Alcohol products
Yandex Direct allows advertising alcoholic beverages as long as such ads are permitted by the current legislation of the country where you want to serve ads.
Ads in this category can't be placed as smart banners, dynamic ads, or in a product campaign.
Alcoholic beverages can not be advertised.
- The objects of advertising are specific establishments and their services.
- The ad text doesn't mention alcoholic products and/or brands.
- The name of the establishment is not identical to any alcoholic brand.
In Yandex Direct, you can place ads for spirits that can be purchased at the store address indicated in the license. You can also place ads for beverages with a low alcohol content. You can not advertise the remote sale of alcoholic beverages.
Your ads and landing page must meet all legal requirements. For example, your ads must not:
- Contain information about the properties, price, or name of the alcoholic beverages types
- Contain images of alcoholic drinks and their packaging
- Use likenesses of people or animals (with the exception of trademarks that contain such images)
- Contain claims about the success or improvement to the physical or mental health of a person who consumes alcoholic beverages
- Create the impression that beer and other beverages with a low alcohol content are harmless, healthy, or quench your thirst
- Encourage people to drink alcoholic beverages or discredit those who choose abstinence
- Contain information about competitions, lotteries, or games that award winners with alcoholic beverages
- Contain information about events where free alcoholic beverages are distributed (with the exception of tastings held for marketing purposes).
According to current legislation, advertising intellectual property designations (such as brand names, trademarks, service marks, and geographical indications) is regulated the same way as ads for alcoholic beverages.
The warning notice will be added to your text ad automatically: “Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to your health”. The text of the notice does not depend on the content of the specific ad and cannot be changed. For image ads, you must add this notice yourself. The notice area must be at least 10% of the ad area. You do not need to submit special documents to place ads for non-alcoholic beer that contains 0.5% or less alcohol by volume. The ad text must indicate that the product is non-alcoholic with an alcohol content of less than 0.5% by volume.
Under the current legislation, certain documents must be provided to advertise alcoholic beverages.
Copy of the manufacturing license for alcoholic beverages, including an appendix with a list of the products that are manufactured (if available).
Copy of the license for the retail sale of the alcoholic beverages with an appendix where the business addresses are indicated (if available).
Copy of the license for the wholesale trade of alcoholic beverages with an appendix where the business addresses are indicated (if available).
A copy of the certificate of compliance for alcoholic beverages.
You can send documents at any time after your ads have been sent for moderation. If ads are rejected because required documents are missing, they will be reviewed again after documents are submitted. If your ads pass moderation, they will be eligible for serving. If additional information is required, we will contact you.
