Delegate a domain

Delegating a domain means transferring domain management to the selected DNS server. You can delegate the domain to Yandex DNS servers, which will then store and manage service information about your domain.

Attention. Before delegating a domain, link it to your company and verify it.

If you delegate your domain:

If you host a site on your domain, link your website address to the domain name. To do this, configure A records for your domain in the DNS editor in Yandex 360 for Business.

You can delegate the domain from your account on your registrar's website. To do this, you need to change the NS records (DNS addresses the domain is hosted through) in the domain settings.

To delegate your domain to Yandex servers:

  1. Go to the Domains page.
  2. Make sure your domain status is Verified.
  3. Open the domain control panel on your registrar's website and go to the DNS server management (delegation) section.
  4. Change the values of the primary and secondary DNS servers as follows (the initial letter “d” in the names is not a mistake):
    • Primary DNS server: dns1.yandex.net.
    • Secondary DNS server: dns2.yandex.net.

If the delegation settings have fields for entering IP addresses, leave them blank.

  5. Wait for the changes to take effect. It may take up to 72 hours for DNS servers to exchange updated data about DNS records.

  6. Go to the domain management page and make sure your domain status is Delegated.
