Banner in Maps
Yandex Navigator is the co-pilot and assistant for 17 million drivers in Russia: it plans the best route in light of current traffic conditions and offers tips on how to reach their destinations as fast as possible. Navigator gives voice instructions about when to turn, where there are speed cameras, and how to avoid traffic jams.
Banner in Maps are a display advertising format that provides an effective way to tell about your products or services to drivers stuck in traffic. The banner with a short message appears at the bottom of the Navigator screen when the car stands still for a while.
Format advantages
and novel
How it works
1. The user sees a banner with a short advertising message on their screen. This takes place automatically without any input from the user.
2. Tapping the banner or dragging it upward, the user can open the banner fully and read the details of the offer, call the company, visit their site or find the company on the map.
3. If the user skips the ad, resumes driving or starts interacting with the map, the banner disappears.

- A banner in Maps is a customer’s banner that is displayed at the bottom of the screen in Yandex Navigator, Yandex Maps, or above the route card. Depending on the selected parameters, the banner can be displayed at a specific point on the user’s route. The banner can be displayed when using Yandex Navigator/Yandex Maps in the non-route mode, when building a route, and when navigating a route.
- Clicking on the banner opens a card with a title and subtitle. The card contains one, two, or three of the buttons listed below:
- with the customer’s phone number — when the button is clicked, the customer’s phone number is dialed;
- with a link to the customer — when the button is clicked, the link specified by the customer is followed (as agreed with Yandex). The link can open a website, app, messenger, App Store, or Play Market.
- with the customer’s location — when the button is clicked, a search query is performed with a predetermined result of organizations in Yandex Maps/Yandex Navigator application.
- The CPM is determined by the following formula: CPM = 230 * T, where:
T is the targeting coefficient applied by the customer, determined according to Table A or Table B.
- Geotargeting — Russia. Geotargeting can be set up for another region/other regions (as agreed with Yandex).
- The targeting settings specified in Tables A and B can be configured (settings may change by agreement with Yandex):
Table AT (targeting quotient) Targeting 1.1 Sociodemographic 1.25 Audience interests 5.1. No more than three settings specified in Table A and clause 4 may be applied simultaneously, one of which is Geotargeting. Surcharges are multiplied sequentially.
Table BT (targeting quotient) Targeting 1.25 Yandex.Audiences service segments 5.2. No more than two settings specified in Table B and clause 4 may be applied simultaneously, one of which is Geotargeting, with a multiplying coefficient of 1.25.
