PRAGUE CHIMES. Prazsky Orloy. Stare Mesto, PRAGUE. Old Town Square. Hundreds of years of history per square kilometer. They traded, executed, celebrated, and rioted here. Prague does not hide its skeletons. Literally. Do you see these guys in hoodie in the photo? The skinny guy with the scythe and his ghostly colleague? Don't be alarmed. These are the local guides. They have been working in shifts for six hundred years, and judging by the queues, the reviews are excellent))) The Prague Eagle is an astronomical clock on the tower of the Old Town Hall, operating for more than 600 years. Every hour, the crowd freezes: the windows open, the twelve apostles float by, the skeleton Death rings the bell and turns over the hourglass, the cock crowes. The performance lasts a minute, and the tourists disperse until the next hour. WHAT ELSE TO SEE in the Old Place • Charles Bridge - 30 sculptures, 14th century • Powder Tower - Gothic gate with observation deck • Clementinum - a former Jesuit monastery, now the National Library • The Josefov Jewish Quarter is the oldest functioning synagogue in Europe and a monument to Kafka • Tyn Temple - a Gothic basilica with two towering spires • Monument to Jan Gus recommendations • Climb the tower of the town hall, take a look at the Tyn Temple. • Come to Orloy 5 minutes before the start of the hour, otherwise you will be standing behind the tourists. • Attend an organ concert (posted on video). • In the evening, lights, music, mulled wine on the square. • Go to the Charles Bridge towards nightfall. He's completely different without the daytime crowds.
