I advise you to take the funicular and, after examining everything at the top, go down to the pantheon on foot. The gate that will be immediately at the stairs is closed. You need to go around and enter from the main entrance. There is a paid toilet. Candles can be purchased at the store. There are shawls/ skirts for women at the entrance . Then you can also walk down to the city. Water can be collected right behind the church.

A very beautiful, quiet and scenic place! We came to it on foot (uphill), so this option probably won't suit everyone. But on the way we looked at the architecture of the houses and the magnificent views. We didn't know much about this place, we just went to see it. While we were walking along the graves, the abbot of the monastery came up to us (sorry if I'm not spelling correctly) and offered to tell us about these people. We were thrilled! The man ran away, changed his clothes, took off his cassock and walked with us for about 1.5 hours, telling us everything in detail. This is clearly not the grandfather that other reviews are writing about here. This is the temple employee himself. Everything is so interesting and inspiring. The history of Georgia, the history of people, opinions about life, the future, the past. It was a pleasure to listen. He offered to leave a donation, we did it with great joy, because it was all worth it!

The place is very special -calm, with some inner dignity. Be sure to wait for the caretaker - he will open the gates to the graves of Griboyedov and his wife Nino. He will tell them simply and with soul: without unnecessary pathos, but in such a way that you begin to see in their story not lines from a textbook, but living people, their love, pain and fate. If you will be in Tbilisi, be sure to come up. This is not just a walk, but a small journey into silence and memory.

A wonderful place steeped in history! There is a small church of the Iveron Mother of God, literally two by three meters. There is a holy spring in it from which you can draw water. From the church there is an entrance to the cave where the monks' cells are located (active or not, I do not know). The pantheon overlooks Tbilisi. The only drawback was the image of a swastika under the bridge for the tram on the way to the pantheon and the blue-yellow spots left by representatives of one well-known and sooo "ancient" farm culture

This place is well worth the climb up the steep road. The view of the city is magnificent, and under the high vertical wall of Mtatsminda Mountain, under the crystal sound of springs, marble slabs of tombstones and monuments, you feel peace and quiet.

A strict and majestic place. We came here to visit the graves of Nino and Alexander Griboyedov: the climb up is very steep, out of breath. We drove by car to the "brick", then on foot. You need to see this place and honor the memory of celebrities. The bonus is a breathtaking view of the city. There is an Orthodox church next to the pantheon, and they sing very beautifully. We discovered a different Tbilisi by visiting here.

Everything is very nice, well-groomed, neat. Near Griboyedov's grave, grandfather hangs out — a replica of the gravedigger of Three in a boat, not counting the dog, performed by Gerdt. Grandpa can tell you about Griboyedov's lecture for an hour and a half, but beware: if you yawn after half an hour or ask a stupid question, he will get angry and stop telling you. Although he will really want to :)

We walked down from Mtatsminda, and of course we couldn't get past the pantheon, where the graves of Griboyedov and his wife are located. The grave of Stalin's mother was also discovered there. A very interesting design of tombs of famous people. Clean territory.

I love Tbilisi! You're beautiful!!! And the historical sites are kept in proper order. The beauty is extraordinary! Mtatsminda is one of the must-see places! If you don't have a problem walking up a steep hill, be sure to go. The Pantheon is kept exceptionally tidy and clean. Take a walk, take a look, and enjoy the view of the city from a height and a piece of historical Georgia.

Very nice and well maintained, lots of shade. Probably, in summer there is a breeze here (on the mountain) and it is cooler than in the city. There is a beautiful view of the city. A very friendly priest offered to open a church for us. But we didn't go, as we are just tourists and it was a little awkward) Of course, it would be great if this place also had an educational function. Who are all these people? I think it would be interesting not only for tourists who do not know Georgian to understand this. But it would be useful for Georgians themselves, especially young people, to read about it on, for example, bilingual tablets.

From the point of view of the inhabitants of the country, this is a Holy place, and its name is appropriate. For tourists, this is a must-visit place. We took the cable car up from the Shota Rustaveli Square metro station. And we were already going down on the funicular. With a stop at the Pantheon. It is a place of euthanasia for many people important to Georgia. The burial of Griboyedov and his wife Nina Chavchavadze is a separate epic. If you are interested in history, I recommend visiting Tsinandali and Chavchavadze's cottage with an excursion.

It was worth walking up Mtatsvind Mountain to meet Griboyedov. His grave marked the beginning of the necropolis (1829). Next to him is his wife Nino Chavchavadze (1857). . Stalin's mother Ekaterina Geladze (1937). Other famous graves are those of writer Ilya Chavchavadze (1907), theater director Kote Marjanishvili (1933), and poets Galaktion Tabidze (1959) and Vazha-Pshavela (1861-1915).

I came to St. David's baptismal font several times. Everything is organized for a comfortable dip, you can even lock yourself inside the chapel, but you definitely need to clean up after yourself. The main necessity in order to plunge into the font is the blessing of the priest. It is better to do this in advance, you can even do it in your city, because the priests are not always free and you can find them. Bathing shirts are sold nearby in a church shop. Children are allowed without a shirt

It is extremely inconvenient or expensive to get there. The most convenient and, seriously, budget way is a taxi!! There is almost no translation even into English, nothing can be understood. We couldn't take the tour. But the place is certainly atmospheric. I won't come back a second time

The pantheon is located on Mtatsminda Mountain (Holy Mountain). And to get there, you either have to make an "ascent" (a steep climb) or take a funicular. It is there, at the temple of David, that the great Russian writer Alexander Griboyedov rests. Once upon a time, in the fifth grade, we heard in a literature lesson the amazing love story of a famous writer and a 16-year-old Georgian princess Nina Chavchavadze. Their marriage was very short-lived. At the head of the diplomatic mission, A. Griboyedov was sent to Persia and never returned. After burying her husband at the temple of David, Nina asked to carve the words that became famous on the grave: "Your mind and deeds are immortal in Russian memory, but why did my love survive you?" After 28 years, she calmed down next to him...

A majestic place where cultural and artistic figures are buried, as well as those who dedicated their lives to Georgia. The tombstones are striking in their beauty and originality. It's a bit difficult to get here (you can take a funicular, but it's much more interesting to climb thousands of steps from the mountain)))The purpose of my visit to this place was to see where A. Griboyedov is buried...

Griboyedov's grave is located here. The author of "Woe from wit." Not many people know that he was the author of the terms of Persia's surrender to the Russian Empire. And later he was sent there as an ambassador. Under the whispers of Britain, a conspiracy was instigated when thousands of Iranian fanatics, dissatisfied with the conditions of peace and the fact that the Russian Embassy had given shelter to Armenians from among the Gorham, attacked the embassy. Griboyedov and a couple dozen Cossacks guarding him fought to the last.

An incredible place, very beautiful, you don't immediately understand where you are, it was interesting to find out that the first significant burial at this place was the burial of the famous Russian writer Alexander Griboyedov (1795-1829), later his wife, Princess, was buried next to him Nino Chavchavadze (1812-1857).

It's a cool park, even if it's a little more expensive than I thought. Beautiful view of both the city and the other side. I especially recommend the evening, when it's not completely dark, but the lights are already visible. The whole trip to the park + 3 attractions took us 4 hours.

The place itself is very calm and solemn. Be prepared that "guides" will approach you unobtrusively, but periodically. They tell a good story, especially since the inscriptions are all in Georgian. But without naming the price, they refuse a modest reward, expecting a decent one (we gave 50 GEL in 30 minutes)

Everything is cool, the birds are singing, it's beautiful, but all the inscriptions on the monuments are in Georgian - there is no transcription! Therefore, either learn the Georgian letters in advance or look for a plan of the Pantheon in advance to represent where whose monument is.
