This is a unique place, on the border. Very carefully restored. A magnificent museum that reveals the history of Georgia since the 4th millennium BC. Be sure to take a guided tour to get into the complexity of the intertwining cultures of the peoples ruling this land at different times. There is a hotel and restaurants on the free part of the fortress. But there are also a huge number of hotels and restaurants nearby, there are new or very atmospheric ones. The city of Akaltsikhe is lively and crowded.
