This is a unique place, on the border. Very carefully restored. A magnificent museum that reveals the history of Georgia since the 4th millennium BC. Be sure to take a guided tour to get into the complexity of the intertwining cultures of the peoples ruling this land at different times. There is a hotel and restaurants on the free part of the fortress. But there are also a huge number of hotels and restaurants nearby, there are new or very atmospheric ones. The city of Akaltsikhe is lively and crowded.

It's a very beautiful location, and it's definitely worth coming for the fortress. A full review of all the places takes at least two hours in a live thread, and if not in a hurry, then even longer. It's pointless to take an audio guide! It's not worth the money, there are few locations, nothing interesting is told, and it was also translated into Russian by a Google translator and voiced by him. The museum was closed, they didn't get into it, but in the evening there was a concert on the main square.
