An impressive abandoned sanatorium. It is located behind a fence, there is a watchman who does not let you in there (but if there is someone to negotiate for you, he will let you in). The sanatorium itself is large, it is interesting to walk along the corridors, but the most interesting is the facade, balconies, assembly hall and tower. There's nothing else to see there, but the place itself is very atmospheric, it's a pity they didn't save it.

Shakhter is one of the Soviet sanatoriums in the city of Tskaltubo. It was built in the Stalinist Empire style. The sanatorium is located in the upper part of the park, access to the main entrance is from the east along the access road from the main road. It has four floors, of which the 2nd and 3rd overlook the gallery, and the windows of the 4th overlook the balconies. From the courtyard, the three upper floors also overlook the galleries. It was commissioned on November 11, 1952. It was intended for employees of the Ministry of Coal Industry. In 1965, the sanatorium was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Main Resort Department of the Ministry of Health of Soviet Georgia and renamed Shakhter. Major repairs were carried out in 1989. After the collapse of the USSR and the resettlement of refugees from Abkhazia, the sanatorium ceased to function. It has a slightly curved facade 140 meters long, with two wings adjacent to the main building. Inside, you can see halls with columns, stairs with surviving wooden carved railings, and halls with wooden paneling. The murals and decorative elements of the decoration have been preserved, for example, the main staircase, the assembly hall and the dining hall. There is a turret on the left wing: if you go up to the top floor and go to the end of the wing, there will be a ladder to the attic room, and in the room there is an iron staircase to the turret. As I mentioned, the building is privately owned. There is a high fence around it, the territory is guarded.

All the greatness and stupidity of the mismanaged in one bottle. It's extremely atmospheric inside. There are rock paintings of some of the small-minded, but in general excellent preservation: Carved stairs, beautiful parquet floors in the auditorium, wrought-iron railings on the balconies, wooden composite windows. There is an entrance to the observation deck on the right side of the building.
