Baden, a small town 26 km from Vienna, is located on lands where thermal springs are beating. It is not surprising that several sanatoriums have been built in this place, and the highlight of the city and its center of attraction is the water park “Romertherme". 🌊🏖️🎢⛲️ It is also possible to visit it with teenagers who have already reached the age of majority. I'll tell you why. The fact is that according to the tradition existing in Germany and Austria, it is necessary to stay in the walls of the bath complex without bathing suits. 👙🩲🩴 That is, everything is as usual in the pools and in the Jacuzzi area, but already in the passage corridor and in the steam rooms, your gaze may "accidentally" stumble upon perplexity and embarrassment. 😁 Here, the locker rooms are arranged not according to the boys-girls division that we understand, but in accordance with the European culture of the dormitory. I also remember visiting the center because its cafe serves wonderful beef goulash - and the Austrians do it perfectly! 🔥💖👍

The Austrian city of Baden is known, in addition to its similarity to the German "Baden-Baden" (another competitor for the attention and purse of tourists), primarily for its thermal springs and SPA center. Romertherme Baden is a legendary place, so I decided to check and compare it with other "aqua" vacation spots: the last ones I visited were the Belgian thermal baths in SPA and our native "Aqua Suzdal" in the city of the same name. They all have +/-parity in terms of price, by the way. For 3-4 hours, they charge around 2500 rubles (22-25 euros in the case of foreign aqua complexes). The Romertherme in Baden is quite good: there is a large indoor pool with warm water and hydro massage, there are also 2 outdoor pools with a rain shower and a Jacuzzi area, as well as a small font with warmer water in a separate relaxation area and even a zone with a regular 25-meter pool for more active swimming. There is also a cafe where you can drink and eat (not on a budget). What upset me and what I was not ready for: right at the start, there was a plug - after payment, the bracelets for entering through the turnstile did not work for us. After 5 minutes, the manager deigned to take his mind off the conversation with another visitor and replace our bracelets. All this time we stood stupidly and waited for him to finish. Then, in the locker room, the problems did not end: our bracelets did not close the lockers. At the reception, the same manager apologized and said that we had new bracelets and they probably didn't work. They replaced them and told us that they would not take into account the time spent on all these troubles in terms of additional payments (over 3 hours there is a per-minute payment for thermal baths). Well OK… Upon entering the recreation area itself, we discovered that the Austrians had not been generous with the free sauna and hammam. Yes, you have to pay extra for them separately in the region of 11 euros per person. Um... it's very strange, but okay. We did not bring a towel with us, as we are used to being given them at the entrance in such places. But even here there is a mistake - you need to buy it in the store inside, it costs 20 (!) euros! Just a tin can. Perhaps it can be rented at the reception, but we scored and started swimming, we didn't want to deal with this problem and waste time. Total: the terms themselves are 4 out of 5. In general, there is everything you need to relax. But it's just unbearable that you have to pay extra for the sauna area, as well as for a towel if you didn't take it with you. We were also unlucky with the bracelets, because of the plug with which we lost about 15-20 minutes and could not immediately start to rest. Perhaps these are small things, but collectively they have ruined the impression. There were no such problems in the Belgian thermal baths in SPA and in Aqua Suzdal. Well, the content in terms of recreation there was no worse. P.S. a 5-minute walk from the thermal baths there is a cool rose garden and a park for walking with a pond. Very atmospheric, clean, picturesque and cozy.
