Just an amazing museum and a tour guide. We are impressed by the artifacts and their age. We also visited the museum of North Ossetia, and I was surprised that many historical finds were found only here and there is nothing like it in North Ossetia. I recommend you to visit. The ticket price is 100 rubles. Tour 350- you won't regret it!

An original and very national collection of paintings. There are many historical artifacts from the Stone Age to the history of the Soviet Union. The expositions are expertly selected. The guides are passionate about their profession and don't let you get bored. Thank you. A must-visit.

My children and I have long wanted to come here. We've heard a lot of good things about him. The tour begins in the Central Hall, where paintings by modern Ossetian artists are hung, describing vivid historical events and traditions from the life of the Ossetian people. In general, the museum has a lot of paintings by modern young artists who help to learn more about history and more colorful. Each painting and story was described by the guide in a very touching way and with deep respect and pride for his people. There are many tragic events, but there is also a lot of joy in these stories. In the central hall of the first floor, finds from the excavations of ancient people's sites are presented, then gradually we move on to the times of the Scythians who inhabited these lands, and then you can see painstakingly collected, not quite in good condition, bits from the life of the Alans, medieval clothing items, household items. As we move through the hall, we seem to be moving along the time ribbon, observing how people's lives have changed from epoch to epoch. The central part is occupied by the exposition of the Ossetian house, illustrating the traditional way of life of the family. The second floor is dedicated to the tragic events that have happened to the Ossetian people over the past 100 years. Here you can also find a hall with gifts that the President of South Ossetia received from famous people. The museum is very warm and atmospheric. It painstakingly contains unique exhibits that are not found in any major museum in Moscow.

It's a great museum for such a small town! The staff is wonderful! The guided art gallery on the ground floor left a great impression of the culture and traditions of the Ossetian people!

We visited the museum with my husband in July 2025, I really liked it)) Especially the price ) 100 rubles per person, and the guide 350 rubles for just two people) We had a woman, Larisa, who told us very interestingly about the history of South Ossetia and customs, at the end of the tour I even shed tears from the stories about the war with Georgia..... I recommend everyone to visit this place.

We are having a rest in Vladikavkaz. Let's go to Tskhinvali today. We visited the museum of South Ossetia. Be sure to visit. To the staff from the guard to the guide, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Larisa, you are the best guide we have seen and heard. People take a guided visit. Amazed. Real Ossetian pies were eaten in Tskhenval. At the border, a resident of Tskhenval presented his homemade wine. Thank you South Ossetia for your hospitality ❤❤❤

A magnificent museum! Admission is free (only 10p is asked for shoe covers), the 1.5-hour tour is free! Beautifully and well decorated, interesting exhibits, a story about history, about the paintings in the hall - the customs and customs of the people are very vividly revealed before our eyes) Must-visit

We visited the museum in April 2021. The exposition is quite diverse - from archaeological finds and ethnographic exhibits to gifts to the President of South Ossetia, information about the heroes of the Second World War and photographs of August 2008. One of the advantages is free admission and a guided tour. One of the disadvantages is that there is no single concept, it would be good to have some kind of interactive experience for the new museum.

A stunning national museum, the pride of South Ossetia. It contains unique items. The museum shows the entire national flavor of this unique region, ravaged by war.
