A unique, incomparable collection of paintings, sculptures and decorative and applied arts. Seven floors, which take at least 2 hours (running) or 4-5 hours. The halls are arranged in perfect chronological and thematic order in a circle on each floor (don't get lost. What I liked the most: - artists of the Western European school; - collection of Russian masters of portrait painting; - incomparable canvases by Aivazovsky, and Armenian marine painters who are not inferior to him; - Armenian and Russian Impressionism; - avant-gardists and Cubists. Each room has descriptions in Armenian, English and Russian (in most cases). I didn 't want to leave this artistic paradise 🥰

The gallery building is located in the central square of the city. The gallery shares it with the Museum of History (one entrance, ticket office, but different tickets and exhibitions). I liked the gallery, it took about two hours to inspect it. The exhibition is divided into different themes, there are works from different periods, both by local artists and foreigners. It's a bit annoying that there are no signatures in Russian.

When you enter the gallery, you will see 2 stands: on the right, a guided tour of the history of Armenia lasting 1 hour, on the left, an art gallery, the duration of the tour is 1.5 hours. The tours start at 11:30 and every hour, the next one at 12:00. The gallery's occupancy is great, and it has very valuable art collections from different countries and times. I didn't like the fact that not all the paintings have a translation into Russian and there are no headphones when the guide speaks, it can be very hard to hear. Overall, the impression is good. There are only 1-2 books in Russian in the museum's store.

Everything is well organized, the staff is polite, the entrance costs 2500 AMD, it takes about 3-4 hours to explore the gallery without a museum, it is better not to do these excursions in one day, the basis of the exhibition is Armenian and Russian paintings and of course the legend Aivazovsky, I recommend it in general! A gallery with a large and diverse collection. At the entrance, it is important to buy a ticket at the gallery's ticket office, which is on the left. There is a museum ticket office on the right. The cashiers are fluent in Armenian, Russian and English. The ticket is 2500 AMD. You go up to the 2nd floor with him. There is ancient art there, mostly frescoes from the walls of temples. You can start the inspection from below and gradually climb up the stairs, you can immediately take the elevator to the 7th floor and go down. The upper floors are halls of international and Russian artists (many little-known, but very magnificent in technique, for example, Kramskoy). These floors are relatively sparsely populated. From 3 to 5, the artists are Armenian, of different styles and periods. A lot of Saryan, Surenyants, Bashinjagyan, of course, Aivazovsky. There are not only paintings in the halls, but also sculptures, household items, and jewelry. It is often difficult to spot newlyweds who are having photo shoots in the gallery. It takes more than 4 hours to inspect at a calm pace. It is better to visit the bathroom immediately, which is located on the 1st floor.

There are Western European authors of average skill, Russian paintings of the 18th and 19th centuries and, of course, a decent collection of Ayvazyan, that is, Aivazovsky. Below are Armenian artists (sometimes very interesting works) and the avant-garde, like Malevich, only worse. I'm too young to paint like this. In general, 2-3 hours is enough.

The gallery has seven floors, one of them is exactly for temporary exhibitions. The room is equipped with a modern elevator. All floors are working now. The staff speaks Russian and English. The gallery was surprised by the thoughtful layout, there is an elevator, you can sit down to rest if you are tired. The staff is pleasant and considerate. I was satisfied. And when visiting the hall with Aivazovsky's works, I accidentally got to the singer's performance, she was a visitor and at some point began to sing soulfully, right to goosebumps. It was a delight! I definitely advise you to set aside at least 3-4 hours to visit the gallery. I will also mention the cleanest and most beautiful restrooms! I'm from St. Petersburg, and this is rare in our museums.
