The Panorama Museum in Konya is a fascinating place that offers a deep dive into the rich history and culture of the region. The panoramic displays are incredibly detailed and immersive, bringing historical events and local traditions to life. The storytelling aspect is enhanced by modern technology, making it both educational and engaging for visitors of all ages. The museum’s architecture is also impressive, blending traditional elements with contemporary design, which perfectly complements its purpose. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to provide additional insights or answer questions. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just curious about Konya’s cultural heritage, this museum is a must-visit destination. It provides a unique opportunity to connect with the past and gain a deeper understanding of the city’s significance. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Konya!

We visited 3 museums in Konya, and the third was the Konya Panorama Museum. The museum consists of three parts — two halls indoors and an inner courtyard. The first hall is a circular historical panorama of Konya, dedicated to the 12th and 13th centuries. At that time, the city was the capital of the Konya Sultanate, which occupied most of modern Turkey. The panorama shows the townspeople and their way of life, the fair and the houses of local artisans with wicker baskets and sacks of cereals, nobles on horseback accompanied by armed guards, peasants who go to get water or pluck chickens. It felt like I was in Middle Ages. In the second hall, they tell about the life of Mevlana. He was a child when his parents left the territory of present-day Afghanistan and went to Konya. His mother died on the way. The exhibition tells about the poet without boredom and oversaturation of facts: it is enough to find out his biography, but at the same time not to get bored. The third part of the exhibition is located in the courtyard, under the open sky. There are models of mosques and other structures of the Mevlevi dervish order from different countries. There are objects from Turkey, Bulgaria, Egypt, Cyprus. Entrance fee: 150 lire This museum is worth a visit, I liked it. It reminds us of our exhibition in Perm "Diorama", dedicated to the First World War.
