My husband and I were passing through here in 2012. The impressions are strong, I didn't take any photos. The crematorium still has that same smell. I've never known what burnt flesh smells like, but there's no mistaking it. Clean, well-maintained territory. We brought a book in English as a souvenir. The audio guide helped out significantly. Moreover, it was either free or for a penny. It's good that they keep such places. Everyone should remember.

Interestingly, there are a lot of German schoolchildren with excursions in the CC. They are being transported by buses. And so the place is certainly atmospheric, the original barracks and platform have not been preserved.

It is a very difficult experience to visit this place. But this global tragedy must be remembered. There is an audio guide with a story about each of the remaining buildings and with the memories of the survivors, including Russians.
