The family went to the museum. A large space, houses from different eras, starting from the 18th century. It is easy to imagine the life of those times. We are very glad that we live now, and not in the old days with the lack of basic amenities ... As usual in Tbilisi, there are height differences here, it is a little difficult to walk in the heat. And we personally didn't have enough interactivity. To touch something or to observe the work of the craftsmen. If there were a couple of goats and a horse, it would be more interesting for the children. But there are a lot of butterflies and lizards. And a beautiful view of the city from above. For organized excursions, it will still be more informative to visit.

The entrance fee is 25 GEL. Almost all the houses are closed, there is almost no one on the territory. Several houses have guides who are ready to tell you about the history of a particular house. There are signs with an audio guide, but they didn't say at the checkout that you need to take it. The territory is large, you can walk without crowds of people - clean air, nature, but it's not worth it. If this is not your first time in Tbilisi and you have already seen the main sights, then you can go for a change.

A great place. Delivery is only by taxi. The kids will be thrilled. All the exhibits can be visited and felt live. Cook for at least 2-3 hours on the premises, you will not be able to eat. The museum itself is very far from the city, but that's fine.

I really liked this place. It's a huge area where it's nice to just walk around - lots of greenery, beautiful trees, and the feeling that you're not in the city at all. Quiet, spacious, no fuss. We didn't have a tour, but that's not a problem at all - some of the cabins have staff who tell us little stories. This is enough to understand the essence and not get overwhelmed with information. I was most impressed with Marani - it was really interesting to hear about the traditions of winemaking, I learned a lot of new things for myself. This is probably the most memorable part. The price for foreigners is 25 GEL. There are toilets on site, everything is convenient. And another nice bonus is the restaurant with delicious food. We went in there and ended up having a nice walk. By the way, you can go up to the road through the restaurant, which is convenient if you plan your route further. In general, this place is not about a "quick look", but rather about a leisurely stroll with immersion in the atmosphere. I got lucky 👍

Imagine a place where time slows down. Where you can walk through the mountain villages of Svaneti, cozy courtyards of Kakheti and Megrelian manors in one day. This is an open—air Ethnographic Museum on Turtle Lake in Tbilisi. This is not a collection of exhibits. This is a real living history of the country. Every house transported here is not just a log cabin or a tiled roof. It's a living story. Touch the warm wood of the Svanovo tower and you will hear the sound of axes and the whispers of ancient legends. Take a look into the coolness of the Kakheti marani and you will feel the tart spirit of the wine that was born here. The silence here is special. It is filled with the voices of the past: the sound of a loom, a song by the hearth, the laughter of children in the courtyard. The shadows of those who loved, worked and celebrated within these walls seem to walk along the paved paths. This place is the most honest and beautiful history textbook. It does not tell, but shows what the real, timeless Georgia was and remains. And also... spare no money, rent Georgian outfits and come here with a photographer. There are an incredible number of locations and textures here so that Georgia will remain in your memory forever.

It's quite interesting to walk through the makeshift village. Enter courtyards, houses built in the IXX century. To see houses inside and out, furniture, utensils, hearth! There are various outbuildings in the courtyards. The plots are fenced - this is a wattle fence. Experienced staff tell us about the history of the house and the family that lived here. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the last century! There are many shops along the paths on the way from house to house. There is a restaurant upstairs, with a magnificent view of the city from the terrace. The friendly staff welcomes you with a smile. Very tasty dishes and wine!

A wonderful museum spread over a large area. It takes a couple of hours to watch everything calmly. The museum staff will tell you everything and show you in good Russian. And if you meet a huge turtle, it won't tell you anything, but it can pose for a photo).

A great place to get acquainted with the way of life of the peoples of different parts of Georgia. Several houses are open, the rest can be viewed from the outside. But that's enough for a 2-hour walk. There are guides inside the houses, but we still took a separate guide (Russian-speaking) and did not regret it. We thank the guide very much for the communication, she willingly answered all questions, drew our attention to the little things and features of the exhibits. You can purchase a booklet with sketches of the exhibits as a souvenir. Tips for visiting: be sure to take water and a hat in summer - the territory is large, there is little shade There are few people on weekdays in the summer, there is parking nearby.

I really liked it. We took an individual tour, led by an elderly, intelligent woman, who spoke with all her heart about the life of Georgians and the peculiarities of houses from different regions of Georgia, and learned a lot about winemaking. It's soulful, interesting, informative, and beautiful!

I do NOT recommend this place!!! Firstly, it is difficult to get there. Only the funicular runs; you need to follow the highway to get to the museum. Of course, to return from the museum, you need to climb the mountain again, on the funicular. Secondly, the ticket costs GEL 25 per person (780 rubles). For this money, only two houses told us at least something, when trying to record the decoration of the house for our own archive, they said that it was impossible to record the voice on video. I was truly sorry for the money I spent. I don't recommend wasting time and money on this place.

It's a great place to walk for quite a long time. To the left of the entrance are more traditional Georgian houses, to the right are unusual for me (houses originally built underground), including a 17th-century building. It's almost impossible to get here by public transport, so I recommend a taxi, comfortable shoes, and water/a snack with me - I may have been out of season, but I found only one cafe located off-site, closer to the closed entrance to the museum

I highly recommend you to visit. This is a wonderful and interesting place. You can take an electric car ride. You will be taken through the entire museum. And then there's the walk. Georgian national dwellings from all over the country are gathered here. You can enter houses and watch people's everyday life. Everything inside is authentic. The museum is wonderful. Thanks to the people who created it and continue to work there and delight visitors. Be sure to visit this museum!!!

I really liked the museum. Houses and utensils were moved, as well as the surroundings of houses of the 9th-18th centuries from different places in Georgia were recreated. So far, there are not so many restored houses that you can go inside - 5-6. Each one has a guide who tells about the history of these houses and the way of life of the people who lived in them. They are very friendly, they will additionally answer about the subjects of interest and customs, if you did not have enough information told. The only disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to get there, you need to go by car or taxi, or walk along the highway without a sidewalk)

The museum is large, the houses were brought from different parts of Georgia. There are caretakers inside who will tell you about the differences in the culture of different parts of the country using the example of everyday life. The only disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to get by public transport, from the nearest bus stop one and a half kilometers uphill along the highway without curbs.

Well, a hack in its purest form. The ticket is not cheap, the cabins are all closed. The guides are tortured and give information in general phrases. No interest in your business. It's not a bad idea, but it hasn't been implemented by 20 percent. Disappointment.

I was at the Art Gene Festival, which is held annually in July, you can listen to a lot of folk music, and there is a concert in the evening. The music and voices are amazing, I was lucky enough to see the Georgian ballet, and it was excellent. I recommend taking seat cushions to the concert, the benches are very uncomfortable.

3 stars just for the idea of creation. I warn you right away that it's very inconvenient to walk there. After reading the reviews, we took a chance and regretted it. One road is through a climb and a creepy road, the other is a highway. In the end, they couldn't stand it and called a taxi. The ticket for such a museum was expensive. Only 3 huts were open, where we were greeted in each hut by an employee, and almost everyone could not tell us anything interesting, except .... the hut of such and such a century and something like "this is a table, they sit behind it, this is a chair, they sit on it." Two or three sentences and immediately say goodbye. We've never seen anything like this before. Very unprofessional behavior is an understatement. We decided to call a taxi right away. There was a wait of about 14-16 minutes, but there were no cars.... The museum staff told us that there was a bus stop 900 meters away. We went along the highway, there is no other road. When the cars were driving, we got off the curb into the bushes and got there, called a taxi at the parking lot and drove to the center. I would not recommend visiting this museum.

A large territory with buildings brought from different regions of Georgia and created in different historical periods. Some buildings are closed, you can inspect the exterior of the buildings, go up to the porch. The museum staff will meet you in the open houses, who will tell you about the history of the building and answer questions in Georgian, English or Russian. The easiest way to get to the museum is by taxi. You can also walk up from the city or down from the upper station of the cable car, but the road is without a sidewalk, you will have to walk along the edge of the roadway.

The idea is excellent, the implementation is average. Maybe it's because I was in early March, out of season. Most of the cabins are closed. Not all hotels are open and have a guide. Where there is, it's also different: someone tells interesting and sincere stories, someone a little dry. Somewhere there is in Russian, somewhere in English. But in general, I didn't regret watching Georgian life even so much. I love this, all kinds of ancient objects, and so on, how people lived. They didn't offer a tour, but it wouldn't hurt, because they don't tell you everything inside, and it's not very intuitive where to go in what order. You enter a giant park and get lost, the doors of the houses are mostly inhospitally closed, even those that work. A separate question for Yandex.Maps, which took me for 2 hours through mountains and wastelands and eventually did not lead me to the right place, although I climbed hundreds of steps from Vake Park, walked for a long time ... I had to call a taxi. For some reason, along the route, as the taxi was traveling, I was not guided on foot, I walked everywhere into a dead end and a wasteland. Don't repeat my feat, call a taxi right away! Of course, the fatigue of searching also had a slightly negative effect on my perception of the museum, since after 2 hours of searching and dragging up and down the mountains and literally through the garbage, expectations were probably too high. In general, I recommend visiting. I would probably come once more in the season, maybe everything will be open, there will be guided tours and it will be clearer where to go, at least for the crowd

The main problem is that the second exit leading to Turtle Lake is closed. We walked around the museum, then climbed the mountain for 15 minutes, and the exit was closed — it was a shame. Mb you can ask in advance at the entrance if the second exit is open. As for the museum itself, it's more of a park than a museum. I recommend taking a personal tour for GEL 80, which is available in Russian upon request.

I really liked the open-air museum! I was immediately impressed that the cashier spoke to us in Russian, unlike other museums and places! We were lucky, we got to bloom! The museum consists of houses and buildings from different regions of Georgia, built 2-3 centuries ago. We only got into three houses, the rest were closed. But we enjoyed the walk anyway! The houses have caretakers and a caretaker who are happy to talk about the life of that time. If anyone is interested in the toilet, then it is almost after leaving for the museum, you need to go to the right along the path)

I passed by on my way down the mountain and was pleasantly surprised to come across this place. Traditional buildings are located here in the open air, it is pleasant to walk along the streets, you can enter the courtyards and some buildings. The complex continues to be built, but I already like the idea. Nevertheless, I would not go here specifically, because there are no cafes or even a minimal shop (there is one higher on the mountain), however, as there is no other infrastructure, but if you are passing by, I recommend going here.

The administration does not have enough funding to maintain all the houses. There are many closed, dilapidated houses. The tour costs GEL 80, which is quite expensive. The guide doesn't seem to be straining too much. You can go and see it, but it's not strictly necessary. It's good if you have something to compare it with - there are similar museums in Kostroma and Suzdal.
