The museum was established to commemorate and preserve Russia’s naval achievements, from the earliest days of Peter the Great’s Baltic Fleet to the technological advancements of the 20th century. Its exhibits highlight the evolution of naval strategy, ship design, and the lives of sailors who served in the fleet through times of peace and war. What makes this museum unique is its combination of educational value and emotional impact. Visitors do not just see models of ships and old cannons; they also hear the stories behind them — tales of exploration, battles, heroism, and sacrifice. Each display is carefully curated to give context, ensuring that visitors understand not only the technical aspects of naval history but also the human experiences intertwined with it. The Museum of Naval Glory of Russia is more than just a collection of historical items. It is a celebration of human courage, ingenuity, and perseverance, reflecting the spirit of Kronstadt itself. Walking through the museum, you understand the immense effort required to build and maintain a fleet capable of defending an empire, the sacrifices of countless sailors, and the continuous evolution of naval technology. For anyone interested in Russian history, maritime culture, or military strategy, this museum offers a rare opportunity to experience it all in one place. It’s educational, emotional, and visually stunning — a must-visit for travelers in Kronstadt. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a maritime aficionado, or a curious traveler, the museum immerses you in the world of Russian naval history, connecting the past to the present through stories, artifacts, and immersive displays. It is a place where knowledge, memory, and pride converge — a living tribute to the sailors and engineers who shaped the fate of the Russian fleet and the history of Kronstadt. Walking out of the museum, you carry not just information, but also a sense of respect and admiration for the men and women who dedicated their lives to the sea — and for the city that still honors their legacy with every wave against the harbor walls.

First nuclear powered submarine produced by the Soviet Union. The museum is world class and the submarine has been very well prepared. Even if you are not interested in military topics it is still highly recommended as it is interesting from a scientific, technological and historical point of view Many of the interactive signs support Russian, English and Chinese. Other signs can be translated using a phone app. Ask for WiFi details when buying a ticket. There is no phone signal inside the submarine You can only enter the submarine at designated times, so it is best to plan and buy tickets in advance. The submarine is only one part of the museum complex. The history of the Russian navy is split over two levels. It takes at least two hours to see this museum. Most people will run out of energy and attention before the museum runs out of things for you to see. The museum is excellent, world class, multilingual signs, friendly staff and I cannot think of anything to fault the experience. Ticket price was 1200 roubles for the submarine and 600 for the history of navy, which is very reasonable
