Very nice Soviet monument that is integral part of the landscape of Tbilisi. You can see it from several angles while walking around town. At first it was an allegorical wooden statue, that was later covered with aluminum to better resist the elemts. In one hand she holds a plate with grapes to welcome friends, in the other a sword to defend the city from unwelcome guests.

""Elguja Amashukeli, the author of the sculpture, called the statue the "capital," but people call it the "Mother of Kartli." The figure embodies the Georgian national history, culture and the rich spiritual heritage of the Kartveli. The sword in his right hand is not raised belligerently, but also not peacefully lowered, held in a ready position. A cup of wine for friends is ready, but not extended. "You can't see a face face to face. Big things are seen from a distance." Literally, the figure looks great from a distance, much more attractive than from a close distance. But the panoramic views from its foot are perhaps the best in the city. You can also ride a short zipline here.

The Mother of Georgia (Mother Kartli) has been towering on the Sololak ridge since the 50s, which can be reached by cable car and offers a magnificent panorama of the city. The Mother of Georgia is visible from many points in Tbilisi, illuminated very beautifully at night. The 20-meter-high statue symbolizes the Georgian national character: a female figure holds a cup of wine in her left hand to greet those who came as a friend, and in her right hand a sword for those who came as an enemy. There have been several reconstructions since the construction, but it has always attracted the attention of tourists.

We were part of the tour, we took the cable car, the price was already included, but as the guide told us and I saw for myself, the cost is 2.5 GEL one way per person. They have cards, the locals have them, I mean, like our "Troika", there will be 2 GEL each way.But where can I get this card?Yes, and the benefit is🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️.Oh well. The statue itself is impressive, but you only see it up close from the side or sorry, from the back. You can approach her from the front, but you'll be standing right next to her and you won't see much of her.The views from the observation deck are gorgeous, well, it's probably all over Georgia.Yes, while you're walking away from the cable car, you'll come across gypsies asking you to "Let me guess", well, it's not for me to advise how to act in this case, be vigilant. Then you will meet a bunch of souvenir tents and small cafes.

Well, for starters, a Google reference: This is a 20-meter aluminum monument erected in 1958 on top of Sololaki Hill in Tbilisi. The sculpture, holding a cup of wine for friends and a sword for enemies, embodies the Georgian national character, hospitality and willingness to defend their country, being one of the main symbols of the capital. Definitely worth a visit. Take a cable car ride, take a bird's-eye view of Tbilisi, and shoot a video on the background of the 20-meter-high Mother Kartli monument from a copter. Priceless. By the way, the video from the copter clearly flies into your feeds and stories, you can't do it yourself.

"Mother of Georgia" is not just a sculpture, it is the embodiment of the Georgian spirit: openness and willingness to welcome guests, but at the same time the determination to protect their land. Made of aluminum, the 20-meter tall figure of a woman is dressed in traditional Georgian attire. In one hand, she holds a cup of wine, a symbol of the cordiality and hospitality with which Georgia welcomes its friends. The Holy Scriptures encourage us all: "Be hospitable to one another..." (1 Peter 4:9).

It is a twenty-meter tall aluminum figure of a woman in traditional Georgian clothes. In her left hand she holds a cup of wine, a symbol of hospitality and cordiality, and in her right hand she holds a sword, a symbol of determination to defend the Motherland. This dual image embodies the Georgian national character: openness and willingness to welcome, but at the same time willingness to defend their land and freedom. The monument is located on the very edge of the hill. At the foot there is an observation deck with benches and views of the city, the Kura River, the Narikala fortress and the surrounding hills. Near the monument, they offer drone shooting. We agreed to make it as a keepsake, since the cost was small.

There were high expectations, in fact, just a beautiful view of the city and the monument, there is nowhere to walk. Although the queue is large, it passes quickly, it cost like GEL 5 there and back

The monument is quite large. It is located on one of the best viewing platforms of the city. In the vicinity, the monument can mostly be viewed only from the side or from the back, as the monument looks at the city from a cliff.

I love this place. The view of the city is gorgeous. The monument is incredibly impressive. The view of the botanical garden is also impressive. Nearby there are souvenirs and a not expensive cable car. The only drawback is that if you walk up the stairs, you can suffocate from unaccustomed use. But it's still a thrill.

As a tourist destination, it is a must-visit. You can take the ski lift with a steamboat, you can walk through the neighborhoods of Old Tbilisi. The stairs are concrete, plus beautiful and unusual views. The statue stands on the Tololaki watershed, with a view of the botanical garden on the other side.

A beautiful monument that looks spectacular up close and from afar. Many people wrote about the monument itself in the reviews. To the right of the monument, you can descend into the city in 15 minutes along a pleasant path.

The monument overlooks the old town and the most popular tourist part of the city. The monument itself is not very large, but its location is certainly very good. When visiting the city, it is absolutely necessary to stop by

Kartlis Deda is a famous and symbolic monument of the capital of Georgia. It was opened in 1958. It is located on Narikala Hill, not far from Narikala Fortress, which makes it visible from different parts of the city. To get to the monument, you can climb the stairs or use the cable car, which adds additional impressions to the visit.

We got a lot of NEGATIVITY from the attitude of the staff! The entrance was paid with a viza card, and the payment was successful. But!!! To get back down, you need to pay again! Only they don't have a return terminal on the card! (the account has a positive balance). We didn't have any cash, we didn't have time to change it. That's where the staff turned out to be NOT friendly, NOT hospitable, and with a complete lack of understanding and respect for the guests of their country! "Pay and then get out!", but you CAN'T just let us out!

The monumental statue "Mother Georgia" (Kartli's Mother or Grandfather's Kartlis) is one of the most impressive sights of Tbilisi, which is definitely worth a visit. This majestic figure towering over the city symbolizes the strength, hospitality and protection of the Georgian people. Installed in 1958, the statue represents a woman in national dress holding a cup of wine for friends in one hand and a sword for enemies in the other, which perfectly reflects the dual nature of the Georgian people.

A cable car went up to the monument. A great opportunity to visit the Solopak ridge. Excellent panoramic view of Tbilisi. There are observation decks here. Street musicians are playing. In order to use the cable car, you need to purchase a Tbilisi metro card. It is sold directly at the ticket office of the lift. The cost of the trip is 1 GEL. The station is located in Rike Park, near the Peace Bridge.

The monument is located on a hill. This is a very picturesque place with a view of Tbilisi on one side and the Botanical garden on the other. You can go up there by cable car (in glass cabins this is another chance to admire the city and Kura), and go down on foot if desired.

It is better to look at the mother of Georgia from the city. And Georgia's mother has a better view of the city. You can walk from the Narikala fortress, but it is easier and more interesting to go there and back on a zip line for a penny. Regarding the monument, it is convenient to navigate around the city.
