Samtavro is a wonderful monastery. Clean area, it's great that there is drinking water at the entrance! Convenient parking for a car. A blessed place!!! We were inside. I really liked everything. And the apartment was rented with a view of the monastery. The ringing of bells was heard at the same time. Probably a call to prayer. Everything is wonderful!

Samtavro was founded in the IV century and has a rich history. It is associated with early Christianity in Georgia and is considered to be the place where Saint Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, was buried. The monastery is actively functioning, monks live here, who lead a spiritual life and receive pilgrims. Visitors can participate in worship services and receive blessings.

A magical place. We have found a new Defender of the family - St. Gabriel of Samtauria. We got to Sunday service on forgiveness Sunday. Although the service was in Georgian, but everything was clear to the heart, the relics of the elder gave a feeling of the presence of the Monk next to him. The soul rejoiced and shed tears of joy. A very strong place.

A unique, spiritually rich place! Salted. This monastery houses the relics of Saints Abibos of Nekres, the relics of Saints Shio of Mgvim and Gabriel of Samtavria. Pay attention to buses with tourists, when it is better to wait out a lot of tourists, but otherwise it is very sincere and pleasant. You can collect holy water on the territory, right next to the gate.

A wonderful salted place. Here you forget about everything mundane...you purify your soul...I want to lean against the wall of the monastery and soak up all the spiritual wealth that has accumulated within its walls over the centuries...Gabriele's beloved Mom..I really dream of coming here more often.Unfortunately, this year it is not possible at all, because the borders are closed due to the pandemic. But we hope that with the intercession and prayers of Gabriel of Samtaur, the restrictions will be lifted and we will be able to come to this wonderful place, pray with Faith and Hope and Gratitude to the Lord for Everything🙏🙏🙏

The unforgettable atmosphere of the monastery! The monastery is active. The sisters are always ready to help and prompt, answer questions in Georgian, Russian and, I think, English. The relics of St. Gabriel rest in the Cathedral. There is a chapel on the territory (on the site of the house where St. Nino lived). There is also a small operating museum.

This convent houses the relics of St. Gabriel Urgebadze, an ascetic who lived in the 20th century. The territory is very well maintained, lots of flowers. The nuns are very friendly and gave us a very good tour of the monastery.
