Level 2 Local Expert

If I could give zero stars, I would. What should have been a simple stop for souvenirs at Median Bazar turned into one of the most disgusting, humiliating experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. The staff were openly racist and aggressive. My wife, who is half Kazakh and half Russian, was refused service just because of her background. Instead of treating us like customers, they shouted at us, told us to “f** off”*, and raised their voices in the middle of the shop. Imagine going to buy a small souvenir and instead being attacked with hostility and hatred. This is absolutely unacceptable in 2025 — or in any year. No traveler should be treated this way. Not only is it unprofessional, it’s a disgrace to the country’s reputation and to all the honest businesses that welcome tourists with respect. Median Bazar should be ashamed. If you care about being treated like a human being, stay far away from this place. Spend your money elsewhere — anywhere but here.

A wonderful place with a history, it would be nice to come here with locals or with guides, they can tell you a lot. But it's also very pleasant to just look at it and buy a souvenir for yourself. The only negative for me was the entrance, I just couldn't find it until they showed it. And what a gorgeous place! There is a temple, a monument, a river, Rike Park, a view of mother Georgia and a fortress.

It's a very strange place, the impression is rather negative. This bazaar is located underground in the passage, from the very entrance there is an unpleasant smell of sewage, water and puddles on the floor, the lighting is dim. I didn't want to stay there for long. As for the assortment, we didn't find anything special — most of the products (I think 80% for sure) can be found in ordinary souvenir shops. I would not recommend going here specifically for the sake of visiting.
