The staff was rude, arrogant, and didn’t have proper internal communication between them. We called at 6:10PM and asked if the activities that involve children are available, they said that we can make it if we arrive before 7:00PM. We ran with my 2 year old child and made it there within less than 10 minutes. We entered, asked where we should go for the activities, was immediately asked to go to the proper room, pay first, and proceed. I know that we have to pay, but why be so rude about it? We proceeded to the relevant room, asked about the activity, and I was told that there is no availability. Like, what? You just told us there is over the phone. After some words of criticism from our side for this incident, one of the staff members cut us off on the way out quite aggressively and started yelling at us to add insult to injury. In short, if you can’t have better staff with no attitude and aggressiveness, then you probably should just close shop and open a different business. This was my first and last visit. Very disappointed.

Machanents House restaurant in Etchmiadzin is not just a restaurant, but a whole cultural, tourist and social place with its own art space. It offers traditional Armenian cuisine with modern serving and a warm atmosphere. The dishes are good in some places, but mediocre in some places, it's a matter of taste. The portions are generous, the flavors are vibrant. The staff is attentive and hospitable, creating the feeling that you are expected as old friends. By the way, the very name Machanents comes from the word kiss. A separate feature is master classes on making Armenian lavash: guests learn how to make and bake real lavash in a tandoor, it will become a vivid impression and interesting entertainment for the whole family. On the downside: there are queues and delays in serving meals during peak hours, and parking is limited nearby. Without a navigator, it will be difficult for an ordinary tourist to find this place, there are several different entrances from different streets. In general, it is a great place for those who want to get acquainted not only with traditional Armenian cuisine, but also with culture, history and get a unique culinary experience.

A very beautiful restaurant, decorated in a traditional national style. From the very first minutes, you can feel the special atmosphere of Armenia — you want to look at the interior, everything is so colorful, cozy and with a soul. I would also like to mention the waiters, who are older people, with a great attitude towards guests and a real service culture. They are very attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. They helped with the selection of dishes, gave recommendations, and the service turned out to be surprisingly fast. And most importantly, everything we ordered was really delicious! After some unsuccessful experiences in other establishments, we were pleasantly surprised at how well and correctly the national dishes are prepared here. The restaurant has a very warm, soulful atmosphere. We had a great time and left with a wonderful mood and the most pleasant impressions. I especially remember the extraordinary national interior, which, together with the cuisine and excellent service, creates a sense of genuine Armenian hospitality. I definitely recommend visiting this amazing place! Here you can not only have a delicious meal, but also enjoy the atmosphere, flavor and hospitality of Armenia.

I would call this place a cultural complex. Nevertheless, at the entrance you can see interesting solutions of creative thought and imagination in terms of sculptures, decorative items and space layout. The general complex is distinguished by green spaces. The abundance of ivy surrounding the buildings is particularly striking. You can wander for hours and find something interesting and unusual in almost every corner. There are galleries in the area, including children's galleries, as well as a gift shop where you can find a variety of handmade crafts: jewelry, canvases, rugs, scarves, semiprecious stones, tableware, and more. Prices are mostly average and/or high. There are restaurant areas in the courtyard and on the upper floor where you can not only have lunch, but also continue exploring the works of art placed around. There is a small pool with water in the center of the complex where you can find coins (save your dream before you throw). One segment already has a restaurant with inclusive workplaces, which features various accessories typical of the Armenian lifestyle of the 80s and 90s, including a fairly wide range of tools for rural life. An assortment of wines is also presented at the bottom. There is even a creative approach in the design of the tables. Outside, you can see a small corner with a bunch of tools and accessories used in baking bread in ancient times. In a separate section, a scene has been created for drying laundry. There is also a sample of an old spring stone in the courtyard. There was also a theater club operating here during my visit. I also visited the areas of clay making and lavash baking workshops. Their cost is 1,500 and 3,000 drams, respectively. Other master classes are also offered, which can be specified in advance. There is a museum hall in the back, the entrance ticket to which costs 2000 drams. Guide services are also available - 500 AMD per person. The staff in the area is mostly friendly and, most importantly, not intrusive. You can move freely, taking your time exploring the area and seem to go back in time. I noticed two bathrooms in the area. Unfortunately, there was no water in one of them, which caused some inconvenience. A pleasant addition was also the music playing in the courtyard and in part of the restaurant, old and new Armenian folk songs, which further emphasized the Armenian flavor. My overall impressions are positive. I think this is one of those places where you can not only walk or have lunch, but also experience the different layers of Armenian culture and lifestyle through time through art. The place may be of interest to different age groups, regardless of nationality.

An unforgettable evening at Machana Tun! 🇦🇲✨ After a busy day full of exploring the museums and holy sites of Armenia, we accidentally wandered into the Machana Tun restaurant in Etchmiadzin, we wanted to have a quick snack and continue our journey, but we were delayed for two hours – and it became a real discovery! From the very first minutes, we were fascinated by the atmosphere. I never would have thought that once you cross the threshold of an institution you would find yourself in another world. The restaurant is decorated in an authentic national style, with authentic household items that are transported back to the days when our grandmothers and parents lived. It was a unique opportunity to touch that era. A particularly touching moment was that my mother was able to remember baking lavash in tandoor in her youth. Such a service in a restaurant is just wonderful! It was not only an interesting experience for her, but also an opportunity for me to touch these warm memories. There was also a real expanse for children: sculpting from clay, drawing – an opportunity to show creativity and learn something new. I would like to thank our waiter Nelson, a very mature and attentive man. It was my first experience being served by an older man, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've always been used to young waiters, but this experience turned out to be incredibly enjoyable. The service was top-notch: polite, fast, with such care that you could feel the real Armenian hospitality. Machana Tun is a place where cuisine, atmosphere, respect for traditions and the highest service merge together. Thank you so much for this wonderful evening! We will definitely return to Armenia and visit you again!

The cuisine impressed with its variety and affordable prices. The dishes are delicious and huge. One serving of salad is enough for 3 people. We will definitely come back here again

An atmospheric place in the style of an Armenian courtyard. You can bake pita bread and eat it with cheese and pita bread. The interiors are wonderful, they immerse you in childhood and times of carefree. Polite waiters and staff, especially I would like to mention the pleasant and sociable aunt Arpine! You can eat outside under a canopy or inside with air conditioning.

An interesting atmosphere in terms of the design of the premises and the restaurant complex. Both adults and children will have something to see and be surprised by, and there will probably be a desire to visit this place again. There are separate activities for children during their stay, you can make a pitcher or bake pita bread for a fee, etc. The food is good, we ordered very different dishes and everything arrived pretty quickly. There are dishes that are delicious and memorable, but there are also those that you remember so that you don't order it later, you can't say they work well with pork, and basically everything is a little salty or very greasy. The prices are above average and the portions are neither small nor large. The staff, personally, in my opinion, is not so happy with everyone and everything, there are girls who greet guests and I rarely saw them smile or do everything right so that the visitor would be comfortable at least when choosing the right table, you are simply offered the option of bad or worse, although 80% of the tables at this moment can to be free, and then when you're already trying to get used to the place where you were put, random other people like you just come and offer them the place that could be offered to you or that you wanted, but you were given something else. for a person who has visited a lot of such places, it is clear that the place is already such in its weight and with its clientele, and like everywhere else, they have a colder attitude towards "strangers" than towards their groups of tourists who will still come in streams from the tourist bus that always carries them. One thing I really liked about the staff was that you can meet not only young waiters there, but also older people, and they always take more care of you, even slightly overstepping personal boundaries, and after that there is such a pleasant feeling that you were visiting your grandmother or grandfather, it is clear that the restaurant management treats such people carefully and wanted to I would like the young people to understand this and take care of the guests and their impression of the service. It took a little long, but honestly, I advise you to visit this place, and even without my advice it will not disappear, but it may still be useful for someone to decide whether to visit or not.

It's an amazing place. The cafe will provide delicious food, and then you can visit a souvenir shop with interesting author's works, there is also an exhibition and sale of works by artists from different countries, proceeds from the sale of paintings go to charity - to a school where children study painting, theater, pottery for free. I recommend it!

This place is marked on the map as a museum, but it is also a very atmospheric cultural space with souvenir shops and a restaurant. It's a very nice authentic place, and the restaurant is delicious. But some dishes take an incredibly long time, especially if you order fish, check in advance whether they can handle it in an hour and a half or not. But the space itself is worth it to stop by, even if you don't eat lunch.

Absolutely! Visiting Machanents Tun left the warmest memories in my heart. This is not just a restaurant, but a real cultural center where traditions and modernity harmoniously combine. The atmosphere here is imbued with the spirit of Armenia – hospitality is felt in every detail, from a cordial welcome to attentive service. The interior of Machanents Thun impresses with its beauty and originality. Each room is decorated with great taste and love of detail, reflecting the rich history and culture of Armenia. Especially impressive is the art collection, which creates a special, inspiring atmosphere. The cuisine deserves special praise. The dishes are made from the freshest local products and are distinguished by their exquisite taste and original presentation. Here you can taste both traditional Armenian delicacies and original dishes from the chef. Each dish is a real work of art that pleases not only the taste buds, but also the eyes. In addition to the restaurant, Machanents Tun offers its guests the opportunity to get acquainted with Armenian arts and crafts. Exhibitions, workshops and other cultural events are held here, which makes this place even more attractive and unique. I can confidently recommend Machanents Tun to anyone who wants not only to have a delicious meal, but also to plunge into the atmosphere of Armenian culture and hospitality. This is a place where you want to come back again and again!

This unusual place is worth a visit to anyone who comes to Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin). It feels like I came to eat, but I ended up in a museum. Everything is so interesting and exciting. You can take a lot of beautiful photos. Interesting food presentation. A warm atmosphere. PS: We learned from our guide that the organization provides jobs in the institution for people of age and with disabilities. It's very cool!

I'll give you a solid 5. This place is like nothing else. There's so much in it, it's like we've visited a museum. It's very atmospheric. We've been there 2 times, preferably during daylight hours. There is an inner courtyard with various exhibits, a must-see, not to be confused with the central one. Sincere serving of dishes. What I missed was that there was someone who told the story of this unique place. If you are in doubt about going or not, do not hesitate, you will not find this anywhere! The food is delicious, but the atmosphere is WOW! I won't post a photo, you need to see it with your own eyes.
