We were passing through, we went into the fortress, we couldn't buy a ticket, there was no one at the entrance and at the ticket counter. We walked inside, approached the exit, and the entrance gate to the fortress is closed. To the castle. The various telephones on the information boards rang, but no one answered. I had to "escape" from the fortress, jump from the wall into the nettles on the cliff. Pay attention to the opening hours when you go inside, so you don't end up in the same desperate situation as us.

It's a little expensive to ask for admission, but overall it's a very beautiful place, we stopped by for a reason. I definitely recommend visiting both Vardzia and admiring this fortress at least from afar. And yes, the view is better from afar than inside, so it's even more appropriate this way.
