The new church was built in 1884-1885 from red unpainted brick according to the original design of the Vitebsk architectural engineer Viktor Iosifovich Piotrovsky. On December 4, 1884, the new church was consecrated in honor of St. Barbara and St. Joseph. There are many plantings of flowering shrubs, trees, and plants on the territory. Inside the church there is a high nave, high windows.

The Church of St. Barbara (St. Barbara) is a Catholic church in Vitebsk. It was built in 1783-1785 in the Baroque style, significantly expanded and rebuilt in 1884-1885 with elements of the neo-Romanesque style. The Church of St. Barbara in Vitebsk was closed by the Soviet authorities in 1935 and converted into a fertilizer warehouse. During the Second World War, the church was partially destroyed. In the post-war years, it finally fell into disrepair. The restoration of the church building began to be discussed only in the 1980s, and at first they wanted to make a concert hall in the building. But thanks to the efforts of the local priest and local residents, it became an active Catholic church again. In 1988, the Chapel of the Holy Cross was restored, and in 1993, the Church of St. Barbara in Vitebsk was rededicated. Until June 2011, this church remained the cathedral in Vitebsk. The fact that the object is unique among the numerous architectural monuments of Vitebsk is evidenced not only by the restrainedly magnificent and rich exterior decoration of the temple, but also by the interior decoration of St. Barbara's Church. It's a very interesting and colorful place with a lot of history. A great place for lovers of photography and Baroque style.
