The Monastery of St. George. A communal temple without an altar ledge, with a semicircular overlap of uneven outline. The building is built of hewn stones of gray color. The seams between the stones are covered with a dense layer of the mixture, which creates a frame effect around each stone. The facades and openings are decorated with curved platbands. One can enter the temple from two sides — the western and the northern — through doors with a double curved rectangular casing and curving portals. At the northern entrance, in a semicircular twisted frame, there is an image of a serpent defeated by St. George. There is also a painting with the story of Saint Eustace giving a bow to a deer. On the walls on the west side there are reliefs about the Caucasian tour, chained in dragon chains, and about the feat of St. George. The temple stands on a three-stage plinth, the walls are divided by pilasters, the vault is divided by arches. A strong wall with locks made of the same stone as the building has been preserved around the church. The year of construction is approximately 1400-1500 years.

If you hope to see a dizzying view opening here, then there is none. At all. But greedy guides can promise you that. The main contingent of tourists are pensioners who run into a tiny church for a few minutes.

It is very beautiful, cozy, well-groomed territory of the monastery, breathtaking from the view on the edge of the gorge.

If you are going to visit, be sure to take a candle with you. One of the most beautiful places in Borjomi. We climbed the mountain on foot for 10 minutes, without equipment. A spring gushes out of the rock in the Monastery.
