The only preserved pagan temple in the region. Natural surroundings are even more impressive.

I liked the ancient temple itself and the place - in the heat you can sit in the shade of trees, take a walk in the garden. On the way to the museum, they sell national sweets. We bought gifts for our relatives. Our son is an artist and he painted every place we visited. It's just a pity that the guard chased him away from a good angle, even though other people were walking there too. Overall, we were very satisfied!

It is only a 40-minute drive from the center of Yerevan, but already in the mountains. The most beautiful temple of the 1st century A.D., completely restored from the ruins in the late Soviet period. There are ruins of a palace and a fortress on a high cliff above the gorge, offering excellent views in both directions. In the evening, the temple is illuminated, which adds aesthetics to this place. Entrance is paid - 1,500 drams for foreigners. There is a toilet near the entrance. To the temple from the entrance, you need to walk 300 meters along a very nice alley lined with trees and fragrant jasmine, on both sides of which there are interesting ancient artifacts - millstones, remains of a pilaster, etc.

A beautiful temple in a beautiful place-on the edge of a green canyon. Lots of air. You can get an audio guide at the checkout. Parking is difficult-it's crowded after 10.00. There are souvenirs, cafes, delicious pomegranate juice.

I arrived in Garni, and from the first step I felt: This is not just a museum, but a portal to another era. The Garni Temple, like an ancient guardian on the edge of the canyon, towers over the abyss, and each column preserves the echo of thousands of years. He is so stern and majestic that it seems as if he heard the whispers of the Roman gods. There are no crowds and souvenirs around, just the wind, canyons and stone cliffs. Behind the temple are the remains of Roman baths with mosaics, palaces, and a fortress... all this is like the pages of an ancient diary that you want to read, touching the walls and cracks. You really feel a connection with history there: the stones whisper about what happened before the temple, before Christianity, before us. Restored after the earthquake, the temple has not lost its authenticity — it feels alive. And you stand before this combination of strict form and deep meaning, and the question arises: how has this not been destroyed before? Maybe he survived because of his ancient nature. If you go, dress comfortably, bring water and a pinch of water. It is better to arrive early, as the air is especially clear, and the light gives the temple an almost mythical aura. Garni is a moment of meeting with antiquity, which is not silent.

This magnificent Temple in the Garni fortress, presumably dating back to the 3rd century BC, is the only pre-Christian pagan temple and a classic example of Greek architecture. The temple is dedicated to the Sun God, Mithras, and is a vivid example of beauty, grandeur and forgotten culture. There is an entrance ticket to enter this place, the cost is somewhat symbolic. Greek inscriptions are also found at this place.

I wouldn't call it a museum, but the structure impresses with its beauty, scale, lighting and views nearby. It's better to arrive at closing time when there aren't many tourists, we arrived an hour before closing time, and there weren't many people.

The ancient pagan temple of 77 BC, about 30 km east of Yerevan, is a must—visit destination for any tourist who plans to spend more than a few hours in Armenia. In addition to the temple, you can see the remains of ancient baths on the territory. After visiting the temple, be sure to go down to the rock massif "Symphony of Stones", another beautiful location in the village of Garni.

A unique place surrounded by plush mountains. The temple is small, as it seems. There are a lot of people during the day. Restoration is underway around the temple. Entrance is 300 rubles. There are toilets, viewing platforms. We have to arrive at sunset

The place is interesting, but for a one-time visit. Entrance is paid as well as parking. After 10 a.m., crowds of tourists arrive by bus.

Location on the edge of the gorge, view of the "Symphony of stones". A majestic temple, near which you can feel the history, you want to freeze and enjoy the passage of time. It's uncomfortable being surrounded by crowds of tourists.

It is a must-visit, from Yerevan at a comfortable distance, you can order a taxi (it is inexpensive), and also stop by Genami (located nearby). A beautiful ancient building with an interesting history (here I would also recommend a guide). I was in winter and early spring, not the best time to visit, but you will still feel a certain charm.

A great place for tourism and recreation, there is a chance to get to an impromptu free concert of playing the duduk. The atmosphere is wonderful, and it is interesting to see a fragment of antiquity in Armenia.

It's a very atmospheric place. One of the must-visit tourist sites in Armenia. There is perhaps one disadvantage - a relatively small territory. Yes, it's a beautiful view; yes, it's a unique temple. But, that's it.

A unique place! I recommend you to visit! Even the abundance of merchants at the entrance does not spoil the impression. From the temple you can go down to the river and walk along the beautiful gorge to the Symphony of Stones. We took a taxi from Yerevan in 40 minutes and got a very humane price. The taxi was called back directly to the road by the Symphony of Stones, so as not to return back to the mountain.

Very beautiful! They know how to choose locations for such beautiful places! We took a lot of photos of this beauty. While walking, we found mulberries and apricots in the same place... Next to each other in the parking lot we bought delicious coffee and pomegranate juice, and a local "bun"....I forgot the name (bombastic, we all fell in love with it, round, big).

The Garni Temple is the only preserved pagan temple in Armenia and a unique evidence of the transition from antiquity to the Christian era. --- Garni stands on a rocky cliff above the gorge of the Azat River, a proud echo of pre-Christian Armenia. Built in the 1st century AD by King Trdat I, this temple was dedicated to the sun god Mitra. Its slender columns and marble proportions embody a rare combination of ancient Greek harmony and the local, Armenian power of stone. Garni survived centuries, earthquakes, and a change of faith, and remained a symbol of eternal light, which was sought by the people who were the first in the world to convert to Christianity. After the destruction in the 17th century, the temple was rebuilt from the same stones, as if resurrected from the ashes. Today, Garni is not just an architectural monument. It is a place where the breath of the ancient world meets the Christian soul of Armenia, where the winds of the mountains sing ancient hymns to the sun and time.

Excellent open-air museum, restored. In addition to the temple, it is worth seeing the baths and going down into the valley. If the weather permits, take a walk. Be sure to buy a Gatu flatbread, it's very tasty.

The pantheon is minimal. :) It's better not to come here on weekends, even if it was crowded on Tuesday. At the entrance, they collect "money for failure so that it doesn't fail at all." :) Great views, just like everywhere else in Armenia..:)
