The House under the Spire is one of the recognizable sights of Minsk, a vivid example of Stalinist architecture. The spire is clearly visible from many points of the center, so it's not difficult to find a house. The house was built in the early 1950s and commissioned in 1956. It was created as part of a residential complex for families of officers. The tower with the spire was designed by architect Vladimir Isachenko. The height from ground level to the star with laurel branches is about 43 meters. The spire structure, lined with high-strength steel, was made in Moscow and brought to Minsk in disassembled form. The spire is crowned by a five—pointed star in a laurel wreath, a characteristic symbol of the Soviet era. During the construction, the climate was taken into account — powerful cornices and gable roofs were made to better protect the walls. All architectural details were made of concrete and securely mounted into the walls. For some time, the tower housed a "high-altitude reconnaissance point", and air defense sirens were also installed there. Now there is almost nothing inside — only a metal frame and steep stairs remain. The house is residential, so you can't get inside — you can only look outside. The house is included in the list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus.

A unique building. In 1952, it was built by captured fascists. The St. Petersburg architect is recognized in the St. Petersburg Spire. The tower with a spire is an anti-aircraft point for the defense of a building that originally housed only high-ranking military personnel. The walls of the tower - the prototype of the Israeli security rooms - are thick brick. They had to withstand the impact of shells before the approach of "ours". And an impressive bomb shelter. The entrance armored doors to the entrance and the bomb shelter were replaced by residents in 2019. The charm is lost. I live in this house. Right under the spire :)
