Great hotel! Lovely buildings, cozy atmosphere, nice rooms with balconies. Got a perfect massage from Gor. It made my back feel much better. Also he told me a lot about how to deal with the back pain Overall - great experience!

Currently sitting in my $400+ per night cottage while a wood fire in the fire pit below our room is filling the entire cottage with smoke. I was woken up by a group of drunks partying with music on blast by the pool. Could not get ahold of a single staff member for 45 minutes - I later learned this is because they were building that fire instead of doing their jobs. Since this property has no A/C we have been leaving the windows open out of necessity to avoid excessive heat - but the noise was so intense we had to close them. Now we are in a hot smoky room. Even with them closed the music and smoke are very much in our space. The hotel claims to have “addressed” these issues, but past 12:00am we were still listening to shouting in the outside common areas, and are still now (at 12:30am) overhearing people loudly commenting that they usually have a fire there until 3am. My mom actually had to go and personally tell the group partying with loud music that it is disrupting our sleep, persuading them to quiet down. The hotel claims they “warned” them, but effectively did NOT resolve that situation. On our vacation and while paying for the stay, we had to play property manager at midnight. Regarding the fire, music and loud conversation below our balcony, the nighttime staff admits they themselves were responsible for it. They told us the “wood is wet so there is a lot of smoke but it will calm down soon.” How is it acceptable to tell a guest “yes I started the fire, but the smoke will get better soon.” Also, whoever was down by this fire pit was entertaining a group of ladies - making crude comments to them that we could clearly hear. The property condones/supports this behavior at the expense of paying customers. They send fake apologies my way via email but literally told us they were responsible for the smoke and noise in the courtyard. Our entire party is now wide awake with plans that necessitate waking up early the next morning. I regret what I paid to stay at this place. Lesson learned.
