On 24.09, we came to a consultation with Ekaterina Bondar, a dentist, with a specific request to seal the fissures of the recently cut permanent "sixes" in order to prevent the development of caries. Unfortunately, they were refused instead of help. The doctor performed only a superficial visual examination of the uncleaned teeth. Professional cleaning to assess the condition of the fissures and additional diagnostics were not carried out. At the same time, sealing was categorically refused with the words: "you brush your teeth badly and you're already late," although the teeth have not even fully erupted yet. Instead of helping us figure out prevention and find the right way to protect our teeth, we were actually made to understand that we were to blame for the situation. There was a feeling that the doctor was completely uninterested in helping the patient and preventing caries. When asked how to brush your teeth properly, we also did not receive specific recommendations — we were offered to "look on the Internet." The doctor didn't even specify which pastes and remedies we use or how we brush our teeth. I would like to mention the nurse separately: a large number of questions, advice and intervention in the consultation, which gave the impression that the appointment was not conducted by a doctor. As a result, money, time and nerves were spent, and there was also an unpleasant feeling that we were actually accused of being bad parents, instead of helping to solve the problem of caries prevention. After that, we turned to another dentist, who informed us that it was possible to seal the fissures in this case and saw no reason to refuse. I would really like to receive an explanation from the clinic as to why the patient was not provided with the necessary assistance when applying for a preventive procedure and why he had to re-apply and pay for a consultation with another specialist.
