The creative network Folk restaurant "Batski" was visited as part of an independent tour to Gomel. The restaurant is located at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Krestyanskaya Streets, not far from the stunning Rumyantsev and Paskevich Palace and Park Ensemble. The restaurant has been operating in Gomel since 2011. The room is spacious, there are many seats, and the interior is beautifully decorated in the Belarusian style. The range is amazing, with a huge selection of food and drinks: hot dishes, cuts, salads, desserts, juices, drinks, coffee, tea… Dishes with food and drinks are displayed along the production line, you go with a tray and choose what you like, hot dishes are served by the restaurant staff, and then you go to the checkout with a tray. I liked the cold brew, the ear, the fish cutlets, the signature sauce, the food is mostly canteen-style, they heat it in the microwave, they didn't try the pizza, but they bake it in front of you. I liked the place. In principle, I like this format. Naturally, the cuisine is very tasty and varied. We were there after work, and, apparently, most of the visitors, like us, went to dinner. Due to the long queues, I decided to take a pizza - fortunately, it could be paid for quickly and then wait at the table for cooking. The pizza, to my surprise, was quite large. And, of course, delicious. There is a separate bar with alcohol at reasonable prices. Two terraces - one facing the courtyard, the other facing the street. The only thing that saddened me was the tired bartenders. I could feel their irritation. But I won't shoot a star for it - anything can be and they tried😁😁😁😁😁 The place at the restaurant is great. It borders on a pleasant hotel and is not far from Gomel's main park. I advise everyone to visit the restaurant when you are very hungry. And then take a walk through the beautiful streets and the city park.

The advantage is that we will not lie to the banal boring dining room interior, and the price is normal, you can eat relatively inexpensively and the waiter cleans the trays with plates. Now it's an unprofitable eatery (even though the establishment positions itself as a "restaurant"???), where prices have increased fivefold, and instead of professionals, young interns have been assigned to the distribution, who work with minimal speed and sad faces in the general flow. The queue reaches the very doors, the food is tasteless and cold. For a pickle, which costs 3 rubles, pork broth was poured, where there was no meat or pearl barley. And I'm not talking about the hyperprice for the simplest chicken cutlets or sausages from a traffic light. And of course, a "salad" of 70 grams of chopped carrots for the price of a full-fledged caesar. Terrible kitchen. Very spoiled. We won't be coming back here anymore.

Chef, technologist - if they are there, they do not control the taste of the dishes. In general, we didn't enjoy the food at all, but if we stay in Gomel, we won't come here anymore.
