We have just returned from Istanbul. I want to share my impressions of the hotel. A big plus is the location. Walking distance to the main attractions is 5-15 minutes. The hotel is clean, which is a major plus. Towels are changed every day, tea and water are not added every day. The breakfasts are modest, but you won't stay hungry. I would also like to tell you, do not buy excursions on the shuttle bus. They are nothing and expensive. It is better to contact the hotel manager Dmitry, he will offer more interesting excursions and for an acceptable price. If we are going to Istanbul, we will book this hotel.

The administrator Dmitry organized amazing author's guided tours for us, whom he knows personally and is confident in their professionalism and passion. Dmitry himself knows the sightseeing routes thoroughly, charged us with emotions and inspiration. And, of course, he told stories about why cats are so loved in Turkey. 🐈 🐈⬛ We advise everyone: talk to Dmitry (before you immediately buy excursions on the bus on the way to the hotel or in travel agencies), he will make a convenient and cool plan of excursions interesting for you. The best hotel in terms of location, attitude and everything else. This was our first time in Istanbul, and we had visited Turkey and other countries many times before. We chose them based on their proximity to the sights. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi are less than 5 minutes away. Also to the tram, metro stops and the entrance to Gulhane Park. 50 meters, to the right of the exit is a grocery store. The most important thing is the Russian girl Irina. A very warm welcome, it will always help and tell you where it is better to go and how to get there, which excursions are worth taking. Breakfast is delicious and sufficient for everyone. Cheeses, sausages, eggs, omelets, cereals, burek, simit and its spreads, milk, coffee, tea and biscuits. The rooms are small but clean. They cleaned it every day. Our room faced the street, and although there was no tram running nearby, it was not audible when the window was open.

We rested for two weeks from July 13 to July 25. The hotel provided a free airport shuttle. Excellent staff, there are Russian speakers, for example Irina. Definitely not 4 stars. More like a two-piece or a three-piece maximum. Choosing a hotel should take this into account and read the reviews more carefully. The furniture is really very shabby and shabby, overall it feels dirty. The room is very small. At the same time, the room is really cold. There are no bathrobes, but compared to the fact that the room is banally dirty, this is far from the main problem. It's funny that the room request indicated a higher floor, but they settled on the 2nd floor. It would be nice if the hotel was packed, but it's really empty. After checking in, we now understand why... the staff that everyone is writing about was not noticed. Maybe they worked seasonally. There are only Turks here.

Pros: very close to the main attractions. There's a nice cafe nearby. The water was hot. The bed linen is clean. Cons: we had a very tired room that needed renovation on the ground floor for a long time. The windows faced a small street, where they started unloading goods at 5 o'clock, and it was noisy. Plus street cat fights. I wouldn't take a room there a second time.

It took us a long time to choose a hotel for a trip to Istanbul, we reread a lot of reviews, eventually at the last moment we chose the Albatross, which yielded to the location and positive reviews by a score higher. Beautiful photos of the rooms, seemingly hearty breakfasts, and a plus to our choice - Russian-speaking managers work. I was lucky enough to talk only with Dmitry, he has great respect and respect, it's nice to meet a man who once lived near my house in Moscow. Dmitry is friendly to all guests, helps in choosing the road, advises interesting places and locations, and in general, he is a very interesting conversationalist and an erudite person, thank you very much! Among the advantages, I want to mention the location, it is really Quiet, we did not hear the neighbors and I hope they did not hear us. There were conversations and footsteps coming from the hallway in the morning, but it didn't bother me much. The rest of the staff is also polite and courteous. It was not scary to return to the hotel, the road was convenient and quite crowded in a good way, without crime. Another plus is that the beds and mattresses are comfortable enough to sleep comfortably. Next are the disadvantages, which, unfortunately, did not bypass our room. 1. Very dirty towels, sooooo. On the first day, I got the impression that they hadn't been changed, they were in my hair, and I had to put them on the floor right away, as this was unacceptable. Of course, we should have mentioned this, but we were too tired from the journey, we didn't have the strength to swear and start dating in this way. 2. The room is cramped, designed for three people. There were two of us, I can't imagine how the three of us could fit in it. The bathroom is located next to a large bed, when you go to the toilet at night, the door creaks wildly and the person wakes up. 3. The room is cold, the walls are icy, the air conditioner is hanging over one of the beds, leaving it at night is not an option, even warm air can blow through. I woke up with a runny nose or crawled under the covers with my head, it was harmful to breathe in dampness. 4. There are no shelves in the shower in the bathroom, there is nowhere to put your shampoos. A cabinet with a mirror over the sink, it's better not to open it, you won't close it. Everything was put on a small shelf under the mirror. And the strangest thing was that there wasn't even a glass for toothbrushes. And the next thing, if you want to wash something, there is no battery in the bathroom, I hung it on the towel rail to dry. They went for a walk. We returned, and someone carelessly threw my sorry personal belongings on the dirty shower! It's just some kind of disrespect. They didn't even change the foot towel on the last day. 5. The breakfasts are poor. You won't stay hungry, but it will be sad. The pastries are either tasteless or stale. I liked only onion rings, zucchini and cheese. Overall, if it weren't for the towels and the cold room, the hotel is nice. But it's not 4 stars, but rather three. But by studying the reviews of neighboring hotels, the Albatross even wins.

The breakfasts are delicious and varied. All of the above is already quite enough for the hotel to be worthy of its four arrivals. But a separate fifth check-in goes to the manager Dmitry and all the staff of the hotel! Thanks to you, from the very first minutes of our stay at the hotel, we had the feeling that we had come to visit friends. The atmosphere in the hotel is completely conducive to this. The hotel staff treated us like good friends. Therefore, the feeling of some tension that often arises in a new place disappeared immediately. A wonderful, very charming girl, Iroda, was ready to help with any questions at any time. The reception staff was very polite and friendly, Shahin and Mohammed, who always greeted us with a smile and were always ready to help. And, of course, Dmitry is beyond praise! Thanks to his recommendations, our vacation has become truly unforgettable! What is a guided tour of Istanbul with the incomparable Naila! In addition, Dmitry was always ready to explain in detail how to get to interesting sights on his own, by public transport or on foot, and generally helped in solving any issues. We stay at this hotel every time we visit Istanbul. Very convenient location: near the T1 tram stop, Sultanahmet Square with many key attractions, cafes, restaurants nearby in abundance. The rooms are normal, I personally felt comfortable, the TV did not work on arrival, the next day it was made for us. We booked a family room on the ground floor. It was very convenient, the children slept separately, each had their own bed, as parents we got a bedroom with a double bed, and my brother got a separate bedroom with a toilet and a private shower. Cleanliness, polite staff, cleaning is carried out at the request of customers, if you do not want to be cleaned, it is enough to hang a sign so that you are not disturbed. The breakfast is very hearty, I had enough of this breakfast for almost half a day. I am very happy about this))The atmosphere is homely, everyone is friendly. In general, the hotel is 3 stars, fulfills its main goals: to spend the night, to eat. The location is wonderful - in the European historical center - there are many cafes, attractions and shops around. The rooms are clean, though a little beaten up by life, there is air conditioning, a TV (there is TNT in Russian), a kettle, a hairdryer, a lot of outlets. Upon arrival, we were given drinking water, shampoo, coffee and tea. Regarding the cleaning, we had a slightly strange situation - the room was not cleaned for the first two days (although we left for the whole day), on the second day we approached the administrator, everything was sorted out, since then the room has been cleaned every day. As they correctly said in other reviews about food, you will not stay hungry. Breakfast buffet - cold appetizers, salads, fruits, two types of hot (not always meat), breakfast cereals, coffee, tea, juice, water, desserts - 8 types (buns, donuts, cakes).
