It's a wonderful place. The photo from there is on my wall. I admire and remember the beauty, mystery, and originality of this ancient monastery. I sincerely advise everyone to visit there.

It won't be easy for those who are afraid of heights. There are railings not everywhere (where we would like). On the steep descent to the exit, I feel uneasy without them. There are many stairs where the steps are not made and you can just slip. At the same time, many steps are still cast from cement. Strange. Otherwise, everything is as they say in other reviews, cool and recommended to visit. Oh, and the sparrows' nests in the wall above the cash register are fun. I (and others in the queue) have never been sprinkled with the blood of a grasshopper, which crunches a sparrow's nest.👍

History is always interesting. To see how the monks lived, what they did. The tour should be taken with a guide. He'll tell you a lot.

A very beautiful fortress. Everything is clean and well maintained. I am glad that you can climb even the highest tower, look through any door. You can spend the whole day, there are many cafes on the territory.

A wonderful place from any point of view. At least from the historical, at least from the ethnographic, at least from the artistic. Also, the village is not spoiled by tourists, and in this regard, it still retains a significant local flavor and authenticity. I recommend visiting the time immediately after the opening, until the columns of tourist buses arrive. If possible, pay for the services of a guide, the visit will become much more intense. I recommend you to visit.

An interesting cave monastery to which you can drive up by car for an additional fee, a good quiet place, a good guide in all languages.

Great. Before entering, we drove a lift for three people with entrance tickets and a lift of 52 GEL. Everything is interesting: the church, the secret passage. Then we had lunch in a cafe across the river overlooking Vardzia

The cave city of Vardzia. Spare no money and pay for a bus that will take you from the ticket offices to the entrance to the complex. We were in July 2023. It's hot, it's cool inside. It's better with an audio guide, but you can do it this way. A grandiose structure. An interesting church inside. An active monastery. Take water with you. After the inspection, it takes a long time to go down the stairs. In any case, your efforts will not be in vain. It is very beautiful and unusual.

I think that every tourist should visit Vardzia. This place is very impressive, amazing, surprising. You ask yourself questions that you don't have answers to. And what beautiful views open from the height! To walk through all the corners of Vardzia, you need to have a decent amount of time and stamina.

Everything is fine, but not everywhere there are handrails. This is not suitable for people with children and with a fear of heights.the steps are generally inclined somewhere that at a height you had to hold on to the handrail with both hands.there are unfenced exits without handrails and there is either a staircase with a cliff or a passage into tunnels .a very strange security organization (why can't handrails be made everywhere?some returned. 15 lari entrance for adults , up to 6 years old discount. +. 2 lari lift by minibus.parking is 3 GEL , typically by the hour (1 hour -1 GEL).there are toilets, cafes, tents.but the best thing was the restaurant on the opposite bank of the river, 4 people for 85 GEL, it was very tasty and with a view of the city.

A stunning, unusual natural and historical place that definitely will not leave you indifferent and will give you a lot of impressions for a lifetime. The cave city in Demre in Turkey is resting. A special impression of the mountain road and stunning views. Be sure to visit, included in the top 5 places in Georgia.

It's a great place. If you're here, don't forget to stop by another cave town very close by! Vanis is a Quababy. And the sulfur baths are further down the road.

When you drive along the road to Vardzia, you cannot pass this fortress in passing, it can be seen from afar. The place is very beautiful, the safety is decent. Entrance for inspection is 10 lari, a ticket is issued. One drawback is that you don't learn much without a guide, and there are no banners with a description and historical information of the object in Russian, although most tourists are Russian-speaking.

It took about 14 hours to get to a very interesting place from Tbilisi. But it's worth it. You can walk and look into each cave for hours. Monks live in some of them.

I recommend you to visit the existing monastery complex (3-4 monks live). It is located along the Kura River, with a length of 900m. We stopped here on the way from Borjomi. The very idea of the complex is admirable, the 12th century was of defensive importance. 8 floors, could accommodate up to 2000 people, 50 meters deep into the cliff, there is a temple inside. Stunning view, see photo. On the way, you can stop at the Khertvisi fortress, also gorgeous nature views, photo attached.

A very interesting place! Mountains, mountains!!Extraordinary beauty, amazing caves, extreme to some extent). Since it was scary for me personally to go down, I'm afraid of heights. But you don't have to look there). Inside, walk through the tunnel, feel the atmosphere of the monastery, join the history! I'm impressed!

I will not describe the beauty, it cannot be expressed in words. The route is not easy. The climb before the start of the inspection is very long, I recommend that you do not spare the money and pay for the car. Take some water with you, try something light. If you are with children, then be prepared for difficulties. For the baby, do not forget the sling, the stroller will not pass there. Take the older children to the toilet before the start of the tour

A fantastic place, a must see. It is impossible to convey in words! There is a water source inside, but it is important to take water with you, it is difficult to go uphill. It takes at least 2 hours to get around everything. If you are very afraid of heights / you have claustrophobia - it is better not to take risks. It is better to take an audio guide or a guide, you will learn a lot of interesting things. There is a cafe and a toilet downstairs. Admission is GEL 15 for adults, children up to 6 are free.

It's a very interesting place. It is better to come on your own to see the whole city (if you like such objects), you can take a tour on the spot. The road to the city is normal, you can drive a car. There are buses (2lari) to the city itself, but you can also walk.

I definitely recommend you to visit. A beautiful cave monastery town with views of the Kura River. Book a whole day for the visit. The cost per person is GEL 15, for an additional fee, a minibus is taken directly to the beginning of the route, but if it is not very hot, then it is quite possible to walk (the road is paved). The cave church was especially impressive.

One of the most beautiful places in Georgia! Wonderful and pleasant people work there. We got to the service in the church of this city, the staff did not let us go until we drank holy water from the lake right in the mountain. I was very glad to visit this place, thank you!

There are few hotels nearby. The average price per night is 120 GEL. Dinner was prepared from local products. The portions are not large and expensive. It's the tastiest trout I've ever tasted! Vardzia is a must-visit, as well as hot springs within a 5-minute drive. The hot springs are a barn on the river bank. Colorful . The water is amazing, it doesn't smell like sulfur.

It was in the spring on a sunny weekday. There are few visitors, parking is free and free! Tickets are 30 lari and for 4 more, the two of us were lifted up on a large new minibus. The routes are thoroughly equipped. I was afraid it would be expensive and wild, but it turned out to be the opposite. When you walk through the burrows, replenish your strength down in the cafe, right by the stream of stormy Chickens. But the most striking impression is the incredibly delicious air in the valley. I don't want to exhale. I understand those who dug caves there.

A must-visit. 1. Park your car for free in front of the entrance. 2. Buy a minibus ticket to the top. 3. Don't waste your energy and don't go to every point. The first ones are all the same, plus or minus. The most interesting thing is almost at the end where the monastery is. There are caves with rooms.

I have been here twice with a difference of 8 years. First as a guest, and then as a "guide". Having visited many places and not only in Georgia, all that can be said about it is that it is honest and natural. It often happens that such places lose their value as they become places of mass tourism and income generation. Authenticity is being lost in this wave, as tourist amenities come first. The infrastructure around it and the new-made attributes are overshadowing it itself. Vardzia is a rare exception. I definitely recommend you to visit. Five stars out of five.

We were in the summer, in early August. hot. but! after 10 minutes of climbing, there is a fountain upstairs! you don't need to carry water, or if only a little bit. It's cooler upstairs, especially in the churches and in the tunnels. I will not write about the beauty of the views and sensations in the tunnels, I need to feel it myself. the story can be read, the guide is unnecessary. but really, at the very top, a glass of wine or a cold beer would be divine.
