The Basilica of St. George is located in Hradcany (Prague Castle) behind St. Vitus Cathedral. On the facade there is a sculpture of George, rather resembling a medieval knight. The imperishable relics of St. Lyudmila, Princess of the Czech Republic, reside in the Basilica. They are located on the right at the altar of the Temple, if you stand facing the altar. What kind of grace comes from them, you literally feel this goodness! The place at the relics is fenced and closed, they open for worship on St. Lyudmila's day. I remember the unusual image of St. George in the altar part made of metal, like a coinage. George is waist-deep, without a helmet, with flowing hair, in a swift rush, his face is turned towards where Saint Lyudmila is located. A Serbian saint by birth, having become the wife of Borzhivy I, she was baptized into Orthodoxy with him from Byzantium, from St. Methodius. The couple spread Christianity in the Czech Republic and met strong resistance from pagans. Saint Lyudmila is a quick listener, an ambulance assistant. He patronizes mothers, grandmothers, teachers, educators. It helps to strengthen the family, end strife, and instructs in the firmness of faith. She helps children in their studies, because her sons and grandchildren, who were brought up and trained by her, remained faithful to Christianity and did not allow paganism to revive in the Czech Republic again! Glory to St. George and St. Lyudmila!
