The Long Night is a minimalist text-based adventure about surviving a cold, post-apocalyptic world.
You wake beside a dying fire in a dark room. Keep it burning, welcome wanderers, build huts, traps and workshops, craft tools and weapons, venture into the frozen wilds for supplies, and slowly uncover the dark secrets of this world.
A simple interface hides deep gameplay: resource management, exploration of a huge procedural map, dozens of random events, combat with beasts, bandits and soldiers, a rich crafting tree, and a long journey toward a single goal — assemble a ship and flee into space.

3. Wanderers will arrive — raise a tannery, smokehouse, smithy and workshop to craft gear.
4. Step outside and find the compass to unlock the world map.
5. Before every expedition stock up on water, cured meat, torches and weapons. Watch your hunger, thirst and health bars.
6. Explore ruins, caves, cities and the ship. Hoard supplies, upgrade your kit, and prepare for the final launch.
