«Pulsar: Neon Swarm» is a vertical space shooter drawn entirely in neon vector graphics.
You fly the last surviving fighter against a swarm that gets meaner every wave. Three enemy types behave differently: Needles aim straight at you, Wedges cover an area with spread volleys, Whirls seed the screen with bursts in every direction. Every fifth wave brings the Brood — a boss whose gun modules can be shot off one by one, and every module you destroy visibly lowers the pressure. Disarm it first or charge straight in: your call.
Your weapon grows from 1 to 5 barrels, but every hit you take knocks a level off. The better you play, the more an error costs.
Dying does not take away what you earned: cores stay with you, and between runs the hangar sells permanent upgrades — hull, reactor, shield, magnet, cooling and luck. Fully upgraded, you get about twice as far.
One-finger controls, firing is automatic.
How to play
Drag to steer — the ship follows just above your finger so you can see what is coming. On desktop use arrows or WASD. Firing is automatic, there is no fire button.
Collect pickups, each has its own shape:
• cross — one more barrel (five maximum);
• bolt — restore energy;
• double ring — a shield for several seconds, absorbs any hit;
• star — a bomb: wipes every torpedo off the screen and damages all enemies;
• diamond — cores, the hangar currency.
Your bullets shoot down enemy torpedoes — in dense waves that is the only way to clear a path.
Remember: taking a hit costs you a weapon level. Dodging is often worth more than pushing through.
After you die, visit the hangar. Upgrades are permanent and carry into every run that follows.
