Pixel Studio 98 is a pixel-art game dev tycoon: the path from a lone developer in a garage to a gamedev magnate with a real studio. What awaits you: create games by choosing genre, topic and platform — good combos become hits; split your time across engine, gameplay, graphics and sound over three development stages; hire designers, coders, artists and sound engineers; research new genres, topics and engine tech — from 2D to online and cloud; move from a garage to a flat, an office and a big studio; ride market trends. Released games keep earning money even while you are offline. Sell the studio at its peak and start again with a Legend bonus. Retro 90s aesthetics, chiptune music and a living pixel office. How to play
Tap "New game" and set the title, scale, genre, topic and platform. Watch the combo hint: a "great" genre-and-topic combo scores higher. Across three development stages, split the sliders — the "key / medium / minor" tags show what matters for your genre. Ship the game: critics score it and it starts earning. Spend money on new staff in the Team screen and on tech in the Research screen to build bigger, better games. Unlock genres, topics and engines with research points, and move into larger offices. Come back often: the studio earns while you are offline, and you can double a reward by watching an ad.
