Night in a forest clearing. A ring of logs and ropes, spectators on the benches, fireflies over the canvas, and a lion in round glasses raising his paw. Time to box.
Forest Boxing is a 3D fighting game about animals in gloves. Twenty bouts, four championship belts, from a warm-up against a hedgehog to the title fight with Prowler, King of the Forest.
Eight fighters, each fighting differently. Hopper the Hare is fast but fragile, throwing more punches than anyone. Mishka the Bear soaks up twice the punishment and ends things with one uppercut. Between them sit the fox, the badger, the wolf, the boar and the long-armed moose. A new fighter unlocks every three wins.
Acorns from the ring are spent at the Sturdy Stump gym: four branches of six levels — power, speed, stamina, health. Training carries over to every fighter you own.
Three one-minute rounds, knockdowns with a count to ten, a judges' decision if nobody falls.
How to play
Three punches, each with its own price. The jab is fast and cheap, good for measuring distance. The hook hits twice as hard but winds up slower. The uppercut ends a bout in three landed shots, if you can land them. The blue bar under your health is stamina. Every punch spends it, and it only refills while you stand still. An empty bar means weak punches, and under a block it means you get stunned. Hold block when your opponent winds up: it cuts the damage sevenfold. But blocking drains stamina too, and a broken block leaves you wide open. Watch the distance. Every animal has its own reach: the moose lands from two metres away, the badger only up close. Back away from longer arms and crowd anyone shorter than you. Knocked down? Hit space to get up before the count of ten. Three knockdowns in a bout and the referee stops the fight.
