About game
This is a beginner-friendly version of the classic game of chess, adapted for smaller boards.
The game is perfect for those who are just learning the ropes of chess. Although the computer opponent might not be very strong, chess always has surprising moments.
How to play
The aim of the game is to put the opponent's king in a situation where it can't escape capture.
The pawn can move one square forward, except for capturing an opponent's piece, which involves moving diagonally.
All other pieces move in the same way as they do in the classic game. To move a piece, use your mouse if you're playing on a computer or your finger if playing on a smartphone.
When you tap on a piece, possible moves for that piece will appear with green labels. Select one of them to move the piece there.
A green frame around a piece indicates that it can be captured by another piece.
If a red indicator appears, it means that your king is in check, and there is a direct attack on it by the opponent.
An orange square around the king indicates a checkmate, meaning the king is under attack and cannot escape.
