2048 Alphabet is the classic 2048 puzzle, but with letters instead of numbers. Combine matching tiles — A+A=B, B+B=C — all the way to the winning K. The most persistent players reach Q, the final letter.
And the letters spell words: line one up across or down to earn stars.
Simple to pick up and easy to lose track of time in — great for a quick break or a long session:
• 4×4 board and classic 2048 rules
• 17 colorful letter tiles
• Words on the board: spell words from your tiles and earn stars
• Stars add up from words, wins and games — spend them on boosters
• Points for every merge and a leaderboard
• Daily bonuses: tile-removal boosters and extra lives
• Boosters: undo, remove a tile, second life after a loss
• Autosave — close the game and continue right where you left off
• Sound, background music, and haptics on mobile
If you've played 2048, you'll feel at home instantly. If not, you'll get it in a minute — the letters and colors show you what combines with what.
How to play
The goal is to combine matching letters and reach K. Two A tiles merge into B, two B tiles into C, and so on. After winning, you can keep going all the way to Q - the final letter.
Controls:
• On mobile - swipe in the direction you want: up, down, left, right
• On desktop - arrow keys or W, A, S, D
• All tiles shift in the chosen direction; matching neighbours merge into the next letter of the alphabet
• A new letter (usually A, occasionally B) appears after every move
• The game ends when the board is full and no moves are left
Boosters (buttons next to the board):
• Undo — reverts your last move
• Peek — reveals which letter will spawn next
• Second life — after game over, removes the three smallest tiles so you can keep playing
Come back every day: a daily login streak rewards you with peeks and extra lives. In Settings you can mute sound and music, switch the language, and open the leaderboard.
